Hi Mike, just a comment on the male lion theory. It's not always that the male kills the cubs. I live in the bush and work with lions. In 2019, we introduced 4x male lions on the reserve, and there were two prides with a total of about 12 cubs, none of those cubs were killed. It baffled us, but we learned that things are not always black or white with nature, they can be grey. Just like growing up knowing zebra to be a grass eater and learning that in school and university, only to find a herd browsing on trees, or a leopard hanging out with a pride of lions for weeks (they eventually killed it).

BUT, did the new lions take over the prides OR did they just join them?? Makes a difference if the alpha is still in control of the pride after they join...

Broccoli is great. Most veggies are great! I don’t know how anyone can eat a juicy steak without a delicious green or salad. Just add a little salt, pepper, and butter and you have gold!
@lameesahmad916613 күн бұрын
Nutritionists have found that there are so many good minerals and vitamins in broccoli that it not only provides many essential nutrients for good health but is even believed to be able to cure life threatening diseases like cancer. It is not essential to eat masses of it but on most days I will steam brocolli with carrots and cauliflower so that it is accompanied with a helping of other vegetables. My mother did thus and so do I. Nutritionists have said that not only do the vegetables of different colours look great on the plate but each colour in the vegetables is evidence of different vitamins and minerals. If you have a white, green and orange or yellow vegetable daily in your diet the variety is not only in the colour which is pleasing to look at but the variation also provides a balanced selection of vitamins, minerals and roughage.

Yes, my family can wiggle ears, move the scalp, flare the edges of nostrils, flip the tongue like one would do to an out stretched hand, and have detached ear lobes. All of these I thought were normal because all of our extended family members could do that. When I was learning 10th grade biology, I discovered that was very unique... as nobody else in the class was able to do all of them. Genetics is very interesting.

I can wiggle my ears. Didn't have bad acne, but I'm told I look 10-20 years younger than my actual age. And my eldest set of twins went bald in their late teens. And both of them have big beards, it's the only way to keep track of which one nowadays. They're identical, which we didn't know until they both went into the Army. Their younger brother still has all of his hair, and quite frankly when he wore his beard like he did, it wasn't that much different that the twins'.

1:43 The term goes back further. "Jeep" was the name Thimble Theater [later Popeye when that character introed for a single voyage became so much more popular]creator coined it as the name for a strange but cute critter who would vocalize, "Jeep!" I presume Army guys started using it as a term for new recruits as an affectionate though teasing term.

12:31 Blood is used for cooking with eggs? That's fine really, since there are loads of foods that either has blood in it, or has been infused with it, food, drink, herbs. It is has a few health benefits including iron and vitamins. This sort of practice aka ''Liquid Meat'' has been going since Homer's time, during the classic Odyssey area. There are loads of countries that do it for culture and other reasons expect for Singapore who banned the practice . Well now, that's interesting. I only knew of blood sausage and blood pudding.
@lameesahmad916613 күн бұрын
Interestingly the white protein part of the egg is actually the chick which will develop into the chicken. The yellow is the food source for developing chick. As it grows in the egg the egg white turns into the chicken end the yellow gradually disappears as the food source is absorbed by the chick. The layer of skin around the inside of the shell is the birth sack of the growing baby bird and it carries the blood supply just like it does in the human birth sack for a human fetus. Just when it is ready to break out of its shell the blood in this birth sack goes back into the baby bird. If this sack is broken before the baby cracks the shell to escape the baby bird bleeds to death. I started out with the story of the chicken egg but this is the same for every bird. So yes the egg white is the immature meat of the chicken. But cooking with blood is just plain gross. Although many cultures use blood to make sausage and cook with it the blood contains many viruses and other impurities which get taken out of the body when filtered through the liver and kidneys. If you compare the smell of a butchery where Kosher and Halal meat is sold to other butchers you will see that the first two will smell clean and the other will smell bad. But Que Sera Sera what will be will be.
