As a father of three daughters, who are all teenagers, I can tell you that lot of girls have to do this because of the lack of functional front pockets on women’s clothing. We’ve replaced phones for stupid reasons, but never for sitting on it that I’m aware of.

Bowser the snouzer was in Moore, Oklahoma 11 years ago not 2021 in Kentucky....she didn't have home owners insurance and she lived in her home for 45 years...a fund was set up to rebuild her home, she was 74 years old at the time...I'm sure she's passed on by now...not sure bout bowser though....such a heartwarming interview...

Women's pants pockets are never as deep as men's pockets. If we kept them in our front pockets it would easily fall out. Apparently clothes designers assume all women carry pocketbooks. Also, not a whole lot of dresses or skirts come with pockets, and even if they do, they're not usually tight enough from falling out.

Women’s clothes especially jeans and trousers don’t have pockets in the front and even if some do they aren’t deep enough for a phone to be in there securely. Only one pair of jeans I ever had had a front pocket suitable for a phone and they were from the teenage kids section. That said I don’t keep my phone in my back pocket because I think it’s easier to steal that way.

Im a mobile HVAC tech and carry two phones on me. I also have a bunch of stuff in my pockets like tools, bits, screws, vape, keys, knifes, and many other hard objects(my wife hates doing my laundry). I keep both phones in my back left pocket so they dont get scratched.

As someone who’s bff’s husband owns a company that provides and cleans porta-potties you’d definitely be surprised about what is pumped out of those, combs, lighters and yes phones! When asked how they lost them in there (because he’s been called to an “emergency situation” At a fair/carnival) and asked to to drain one for a teen girl. When asked how she dropped it in there she said she carried in her back pocket & and it flipped out when she was pulling up her pants & it struck the seat. She asked the carnival to try to retrieve it because it was her 5 phone because she had broken all the other ps by sitting on them and breaking them. It happens a lot apparently. Who knew 🤷🏻‍♀️?

I don't know why womens pants often don't have pockets, and then there are ones that have "fake pockets" where they sew in things that look like pockets on the outside, or have the shortest ones you've ever seen compared to mens! I remember when the new iPhone 6 (larger and thinner) came out, within a week people were complaining about how easily it bent. How did it get bent? Sitting on it, because they put it in their back pocket. I wear cargo pants and my phone goes in the leg pocket. The smile story reminded me that just this morning I was wondering how far back in human history have people been kissing? "Before you scrunch up your nose. . ." too late, Mike. Too late. Cellphone(s) in my back pocket(s) for nearly 22yrs with no problems. Switched to back pockets after breaking the antenna off my Motorola120 series 3x while in my side pockets back in 2002. i am a rail transportation officer and there is not a day go by that i don't need to call the police to report a cell phone having stolen from a patron who placed it in a back pocket. this results in reports for the police any my client, and a video investigation. moral don't put your cell phone in a pocket where shows and is a target for pick-pockets.

I have a set of permanent peripheal nerve stimulators ... one in each leg, for chronic pain. I have wearable batteries that send signals to the electrodes in my legs. Mike, I’m a 65 yr old woman who views purses as an invitation to get robbed. I keep my stuff in my pockets and it helps me travel light and stay organized. I wear my jeans a little baggy, carrying my iphone in my left back pocket and have no problem with it. I only have my motorcycle for transportation - the phone is fine, even riding the bike. No cracked screens, no butt dials, no problems. Guess you’ve gotta rethink this one, buddy! 😉

I'm a line cook at Chilis, and I keep my phone in my back pocket. Since I'm on my feet all day, bumping into things and working with liquids causes too many instances to crack your phone screen (or worse) if stored in the front pocket. So, it's bottom pocket it is!
