Nice rig. Your going bigger while I'm going smaller. I've down sized from 20' to 18' and now 10' with a 4hp. I'm right back where I started nearly 50 yrs ago, lol. Guess I've gotten tired of dragging them heavy boats down the road just to fish by myself. Hope you enjoy that new boat as much as I do mine. Jim

Do you have a stability test video with this boat build?
@TheLowBudgetOutdoorsman Жыл бұрын
I have not done a stability video on this boat yet. I guess I should do one.
@NastyNate-fn6od Жыл бұрын
@@TheLowBudgetOutdoorsman yes please, you will be the first with aluminum build to do so.

I had two and it’s a little sketchy tbh the first few times going out then you get used to it. I’ve switched to a 1448 fully decked out with a built 25hp merc 2 stroke I gave the 1436 to my brother lol

I got the same size but boat brand is lowe with 2003 yamaha 25hp i only get about 23 mph but ive never tried speed test solo
@TheLowBudgetOutdoorsman Жыл бұрын
Weight and weight distribution is definitely a big factor in small boats top speed. I can run 26 to 27 with another person

That's crazy. I have a 14x40 jon boat with a 9.9 and was getting 22mph.. I've added deck and more weight and get about 17mph now. With an extra person like 13mph. Looking at getting a 25 hp

I have a Mariner 30 too and I realized my carb wasn’t opening up all the way. You can adjust the throttle linkage to open up all the way. I now get around 28 Mph on my 14 foot Jon boat empty.

I have a 1436 and go 20mph with a 9.8 tohatsu. If I put a 25 or a 30hp on that thing how fast do you think I would go?
@TheLowBudgetOutdoorsman5 ай бұрын
My 1436 will run 30 mph. So you should get at least that speed. Make sure the transom is reinforced to be rated to handle whatever outboard you put on it.

That’s a lot of motor for a little boat but I love it 🤣
