What we should focus on is why many people all over the world who have never met each other have had the same 'wrong' memories of these things

its worthy of focus but the system will never allow such curiosity en masse. the truth is our reality was destroyed by CERN in an act of defiance against god. but instead of letting us die collectively, we instead were shifted to a parallel, similar reality. some of our memory remains intact, but SOME of our memory comes from our reality that was destroyed. if ever anyone wishes for proof of a god the mandela effect is that.

My favorite Mandela Effects are... 1. In the James Bond movie Moonraker, there's a scene at the end of the movie where Jaws, a famous Bond villain known for a mouth of metal teeth, played by Richard Kiel, smiles at his new girlfriend Dolly, showing off his teeth. The gag was, Dolly smiles back revealing, she had braces (With an added light glint shining off of them upon her smile) all along. After being a fan of the movie since it's release in 1979 and always remembering that scene....Turns out it never happened and Dolly never had braces. (I still say she had braces!) And.... 2. As a child of the 70s, I've been a fan of the Peanuts gang all my life. Grew up with both the newspaper comics and the cartoons. I could have sworn his name was always spelled Schultz. I found out a couple years ago, that his name, in fact is spelled Schulz, minus the 'T'. Those are my two dome scratchers.

In the Adam Sandler movie "Mr. Deeds", near the end when he's trying to change the stockholders' minds about selling his late uncle's company, he talks about how there's nothing wrong with being rich. He then turns to look at a guy in the audience and says, "The Monopoly guy there is pretty psyched about it." and the camera turns to the guy and, sure enough, he's dressed just like Mr. Monopoly (or Rich Uncle Pennybags or just The Monopoly Guy, names he's also known as) but, no monocle! A little later, though, when people are saying what their sixth grade selves would do to them, one guy says he would've tied his naked body to a chair and burned himself with lit cigarettes. At this point the camera shows the "Monopoly Guy", again, and now he's looking at the weirdo THROUGH A MONOCLE he's holding up to his eye! So...to make a long story short (TOO LATE!), Jim Carrey isn't the only one who's trying to make Mandela Effects concreted into people's brains. lol

I've personally found that some of these are referenced in films and other media and may help to explain some of this. Some examples... 1. Rich Uncle Pennybags is referenced in Ace Ventura: Pet Detective (1994)... the guy at the party has a monocle and Ace refers to him as "The Monopoly Guy". 2. A lot of people reference Kazaam as the confusion for "Shazaam"... I recently rediscovered a film called Bernard and the Genie starring Lenny Henry. I wonder if this has anything to do with it. 3. "Luke, I am your father" simply sets the context of it being a Star Wars quote. The reference in Tommy Boy (1995) is one of my favourites. 4. In Fools Rush In (1997), starring Matthew Perry, his character says "Lucy, you got some splainin' to do." Probably another context setter simply being fleshed out into a more quotable sentence. 5. "Hello, Clarice"... very similar to point 4. Great reference in The Cable Guy (1996). 6. "Play it again, Sam" AND 7. "Beam me up, Scotty" both context setters and referenced a tonne thanks to their age and notoriety. Couple of final comments... When Forrest shares his mothers quote on the bench, yep. However, his mum herself says her line with present tense. Think "Merry Melodies" and you'll always remember Looney "Tunes". 👍😎

Berenstein vs Berenstain: the books depicted could have been someone in the publishing company remembering it wrong and thus having it printed wrong. Jiff vs Jiffy; the confusion could stem from a brand called Skippy. I think this particular effect all comes down to our brains mixing two or more images/memories into one. I recall reading how stuff our mind makes up can be perceived as a genuine memory.
@jennifernordlund2691

That's a simplistic point of view. Too many people have the exact same memories. Memories that have details and stories and secondary memories related to them, for this to be true.

Look all I’m saying is that my last name ends with stein and I made the connection when I was a kid and I clearly unequivocally remember them as Berenstein Bears. I have a theory that has to do with the Heisenberg uncertainty principle that it might be universes overlapping if we consider the many worlds theory and some interpretations of the multiverse as being “sheets” that overlap

There’s a linguistic term for this phenomenon (in some of the examples provided) but I’m too lazy to research it. It happens when a novel word resembles a familiar one, and the latter is assimilated into its interpretation. I recall a few from people I’ve known. 1. I had to look for bulgar wheat with a coworker in a supermarket. She kept looking at the list, saying “we gotta get some burglar wheat”. It was a novel word for me as well, but I assumed it originated in Bulgaria. 2. A relative was talking about budgeting for her vacation and how she needed money for “silvenirs”. I wouldn’t expect her to know that it is French for “memento” but I assumed that she pictured little “silver” trinkets.

I have experienced Mandela effect recently. The thing is bit disturbing, it was when Ayrton Senna's anniversary of his fatal crash was remembered. This brought to my memory a fatal crash of another driver, who survived the incident itself and was sitting calmly in the cockpit, turning the engine off and preparing to leave the wreckage and go aside to safety. Suddenly, out of nowhere, a bouncing wheel appeared and struck his head, injuring him fatally. I could not find the video of the incident, despite I saw it many times about a decade ago. YT is full of explicit videos, so the fear of demonetisation was not a factor. There is a Wikipedia page listing all fatalities in racing car sports, every series, since the beginning of the racing cars. Nobody perished that way. If I could draw, I would do exact scene: the white-ish racing car (F1 or F2, 1990s style) yellow helmet, left U-turn where the crash happened, short straight line and 90 degrees right turn. The debris on the track. The driver calmly doing his job. The bouncing rear wheel and the fatal end. Apparently, it never happened.

I think you're just misremembering the 2009 F2 accident that killed Henry Surtees. In his yellow car with a white helmet he was killed after a tyre from a crashed car bounced across the live track and struck him. His car then "gently" crashed and he was seen moving and at first they thought he was okay.

People who remember "Toons" aren't creating that out of nothing. Warner-Brothers *did* use it on the show title, not the original (Looney Tunes) but on the more recent and just as popular spinoff: Tiny Toons. And that brings us to a well known psychological fact that is *never* mentioned when discussing the ME, replaced by "confabulation" as the only thing at play. Confabulation exists, sure, especially the more we overthink a subject, but there's another thing called subconscious immediate honesty. We've all heard "don't overthink it. Just go with your *first* answer!". There's a reason. Our brains tend to be very memory-honest when not given time to think, going just on impulse and intuition, and *that's* how most people draw their (supposed) false memories... which probably aren't so false after all. Example: you're shown a detail-heavy image to check for a few seconds. They hide the image and ask you what's the color of the old man's shirt, by the wall at the left. Your mouth opens and replies "green" without even any thought. You're told to take it easy, you have time to think it better. So you do. After a while you decide to change to "orange". Is it any surprise if the color turns out to be green, just like you first answered by instinct? This type of situation is common. And it suggests that folks could be more correct about their "falsies" then we think.

The original Mandela misremembering event occurred in 2009 and following realization of others was caused by the firing up of the Hadron collider in 2008 which caused information from parallel universes to collide and get mixed up or "leak" into each other. It is now just become mixed with a bunch of common misremeances.

Jiff vs. "Jiffy" is likely from people confusing Jiff with memories of Skippy peanut butter and then confusing the two. Mr. Monopoly's monocle is likely from people confusing him with memories of Mr. Peanut (The Planter's mascot)..who does have a monocle...sometimes (They both have top hats...hence the association), which is why I used to think that Monopoly had a peanut piece!

The Snow White thing might actually come from the original german Brothers Grimm's tale collection (KHM 53). It famously says there "Spieglein, Spieglein[...]", which translates to the double ”(little) mirror". Some english translations of the Grimm's collections translated it "Mirror, mirror", keeping the double and syllable count, others went straight to "looking-glas". Disney decided to go with "magic mirror" when they turned the old tale into their animated movie. Please keep in mind that the Brothers Grimm merely wrote down old tales, that at that point, have only been passed down verbally and/or by other means (pictures, figurines...) open for interpretation, misremembering and changes of details (kind of a generations spanning game of telephone). They did not come up with these tales and many iterations were around, some of which may even be remembered to this day, albeit the versions the Grimms decided to put down may be the by far most well-known for that very reason.

I think part of the “The Berenstain Bears” Mandela Effect has to do with teachers. Teachers back in to 60’s & 70’s used children’s book to teach students how to read & pronounce words. Stain or Stein used in a name, is normally pronounced with the “e” not the “a”, like in Frankenstein. So, some teachers taught that these were the Berenstein Bears because of it being in a name. With the “I am your father” line, it’s an easy misunderstanding. TV shows or movie that have parody this line, had to get the point across quickly. Saying, “Luke, I am your father” did this. It directly connects us to Star Wars, because of “Luke” & knowing Vader is his father. So, while a character maybe holding something like a lightsaber, a joke just saying, “No, I am your father” may not get the point across as well.

When another Mandela effect is discovered, it’s a sign that you may have slipped in a parallel universe. One day, some parallel universe you mistakenly and unknowingly slip into could turn out to be wildly different than your own and possibly very dangerous. Beware! It could happen to anyone! So, the questions are: how commonly does a person slip between parallel universes? Might we not know it sometime until it’s too late or not at all? Are you in your home universe? Do you really know those you surround yourself with or are they playing you just until they get their chance when you let your guard down?

I absolutely knew that New Zealand was NE of Australia, there was not a large island of any kind that was SE of Australia, but it's there now. There's a lot of us remember this very clearly and no, it's not a matter of being bad at geography. In fact people who excelled in geography remember it clearly, and have been totally freaked out to learn where it is today. It absolutely was East of New Guinea, right beside it and NE of Australia. This one is one of the hardest to explain. But it's been shocking to many of us, and I think is the largest tell that something strange has definitely happened.
