@salam-peace551911 ай бұрын
I think the one with the embarassing christmas photo is because many confused it with another episode, the christmas special ("Christmas Who?") where Spongebob starts crying after Santa doesn't come, and Squidward takes a photo of him while he is standing next to the christmas tree coral, staring with huge crying eyes into the camera. Some might have remembered this photo as the embarassing christmas party photo. And the guitar one might also be because of the white pointy boots Spongebob is wearing, which would stylistically fit a white v-shaped guitar people were remembering.

5:22 For the shoelaces, the Mandela Effect never occurred to me since I like drawing SpongeBob a lot when I was younger. The look of his shiny black shoes had already been burned to my mind that I am very certain the shoelaces were never present and it was only for the episode's sake. 6:51 For the lipstick, I was also affected as I do remember SpongeBob finishing it, but he says "Coral Blue Number 52". Although, I speculate that I was mixed with the "62 cents" from "Born Again Krabs" because of the emphasis the Dutchman put on saying "62" seemingly fits well with how SpongeBob talks, at least for my young mind, and misremembered the voice as SpongeBob's. 9:33 The gag of cutting the narrator off when saying the Formula was burned into my memory because I saw it in TV first, so I laughed very loudly when it cuts immediately to the episode's special credits sequence. When I was young, I've always lamented that the DVD version didn't include the credits, so the cut-off felt hollow. 10:16 Ironically, I wasn't affected becaus, back then, I felt like they should've added more people complaining since having few people complaining felt like his defeat is a bit lackluster. 12:03 Ngl, I loved Atlantis Squarepantis, so I kinda memorized the entire special and its songs since I've watched it so many times, so nothing really felt off for me.

The biggest one for me out of all of these is definitely SpongeBob's guitar. I remember the V-shaped guitar so vividly, I was stunned when I first learned it was a peanut guitar! I know it's SpongeBob, but the peanut guitar makes the whole thing look weird and, well.. goofy. It was supposed to be an awesome, epic moment, and the V-shaped rocker guitar added to that. As for the Krusty Krab Training Video, I don't remember the recipe ever being revealed, but it does end MUCH more abruptly than I remembered. Way back when I first watched it, I remember it was like "The Krabby Patty Secret Foruma is...!" and then it ended. But the "is" is cut off so abruptly now, it almost sounds like an editing error. It's a minor change, but it's jarring to hear. The other effects in the video, I'm not sure about. I feel like they could be either or. But the guitar and the "is" cutoff... something's up with that.

However, I do also think there may be some mix-up with the training video and some other instances in which ingredients have been listed (Plankton's Army, The Great Patty Caper). The mandala effect is interesting, because the conclusions that people always imagine always seem to be better versions of what actually happens. Or ones that makes more sense in context. A wonderful example is the thinker statue, who people imagine to have his chin resting on a closed fist, when in reality, his hand is slumped against his face, in a very illogical manner. A popular theory is the human brain is so used to filling in the gaps of our memories, that it will correct details that doesn't seem to fit conventional wisdom. It therefore conjures fake memories that make more sense to the individual. Since human brains function similarly, this can happen on a large scale. "Do you remember SpongeBob holding a peanut shaped guitar? That's much too silly to be true, he was holding a V shaped guitar like the one in this other episode you saw"

Its really a testament to how long this show has been going on and how memorable it is, that a lot of these can be explained by similar scenarios, scenes, and jokes in different episodes. The ingredients list is likely misremembered due to it being read out in "Plankton's Army." The scene in "Pickles" is so similar to the fuzzy dice, meat, and muffler scene in "Bubble Buddy" Or even some people remembering the Christmas Party photo as the photo Squidward took in "Christmas Who?"

There was one I remember in the Plankton episode where he has the machine that would tell him what the ingredients of an object he puts in it. I specifically remember at the end where Plankton falls in the machine, the computer (Karen) said he was made up of 50% Plank and 50% Ton. I remember this being funny because at the first object he puts in which is Sea weed and when he put it in it said 50% Sea 50% Weed, so at the end it would’ve showed that even if he did put the Patty into the machine he wouldn’t of gotten the ingredients but rather a variant of that. However that’s not how the scene goes, in the actual episode Karen says, 10% Evil and 90% Hot gas (Or something around those lines I don’t quite remember) this blew my mind as I didn’t remember it going like that at all. Besides that though all the other Mandela effects I think were made up to get people talking, I mean of course they never said the secret formula at the end of the episode that was the whole joke!

And wouldn't you know it: In the German version he actually says "It's coral blue no. 3" the moment he gets hit and I'm shocked to see it not being in the English version aswell. Maybe people mistook the German one for the original somehow. The German word for 3 does sound a bit like the English word for 5 if you don't speak German (both make an 'i' sound). I remember 99% of these episodes very vividly and none of the Mandela effects ever happened. What more than likely happened was somebody remembered something wrong and posted it and everyone due to the power of suggestion said “oh yeah I remember that happening that way too” and then the very fuzzy memory of all of the episodes being to warp in their mind to change themselves. And the thing about the blue lipstick, everyone seems to think it was a different number, some people say 5, I’ve seen people say 12 or even 42 a little over a year ago I thought it said “actually it’s coral blue lipstick number 42”, but as I’ve said before, these memories are so old we don’t remember them as vividly as we once did. It’s the bearenstien/bearenstein vs the bearenstain, or the cornucopia, or even loony tunes vs loony toons. People like to think they can’t be persuaded but we can, our memories are not as good as we think they are, hell I remember the Gary episode very clearly even today, and i can tell you 100% we never saw squidward transform, I think some people either made it up because it was creepy or because they didn’t remember and everyone else started to believe it

Im old enough to remember when these episodes first aired and a lot of the things that people claim they remember, but never happened, I also know didn’t happen. Especially for older episodes. To the point that Im actually surprised that a lot of these mandela effects are so heavily “remembered”. Like I’ve always remembered Spongebobs guitar in the movie being a peanut, so Im shocked people ever thought it was anything different, especially since the peanut/goofy goober thing was literally a major theme in the movie. Or that people “remembered” Patricks secret photo of Spongebob was ever revealed, when I never recalled that happening. The Pickles episode I remember it happening exactly the way it was shown, and dont recall anything like people adding more things Bubble Bass stole. Later episodes I can’t speak on, because I stopped watching Spongebob sometime around season 4/5ish, but yeah.

1st one, the fan animation was something many of us saw on YT long after seeing the OG episode and we falsely associate it with being the "uncut version" and from there rumors if it always being shown in "X country" further perpetuated it. 2nd one, there have been fan theories, art, and parody videos galore specifying this or spongebob naked and "drunk" on ice cream. Eventually these fun fan creations went on for so long that they went from cheeky fantasy to concrete memory for many folks. 3rd one, Spongebob never had shoelaces unless it was a closeup. Speaking from experience, laces suck to draw, let alone frame by frame. He always had varying degrees of shoe shine though 4th one, Spongebob never finished his sentence because Squidward bashed him. That was the joke. 5th one, Yeah, it's a mix-up with Band Geeks. Again, Spongebob's context was him accepting being a GG, and the peanut is the GG symbol. I was learning how to play guitar around this era and remember it being the peanut. 6th one: I had a dream that I saw this episode "uncut" where the narrator started to list off how to build a burger with Spongebob taking notes on a clip board seriously. It was one of those "I am kinda aware, kinda not" type of dreams where everything was floating in a blue void, then I woke up. 7th one: This is a mix-up with the Goo Lagoon episode where people wanted to pop Bubble Buddy. Several fish are talking about things that brought them joy in life, and "rusty keys" was one of them. 8th one: Probably another mix up. He varies between like/love so often. Even in the Spongebob Movie he said he only likes it. 9th one: I don't remember this scene at all tbh. It's been a minute.
