Nah - part of the fun and mystique of John Wick is that by not having a concrete backstory (something we have definitely seen) it allows us to use our imaginations to make up whatever we want. That said, I wouldn't be opposed to a few flashbacks to some of his earlier jobs - just not an entire story/movie that would (in effect) limit what could be by making x, y, & Z canon and nothing else.

Wendy's World - Wrong. He made it a point to do almost all of his own stunts and other feats in the John Wick saga. He was already a trained shooter who competed in tournaments but from the first movie onward has gone through advanced weapons training and tactics in part with the help of a former Navy Seal, he took driving courses to do as much of the maneuvers and chase scenes as he can and learned how to do what he had trouble with, he’s invested heavily in learning Gun-Fu going through a slew of martial arts trainings, so on and so forth. He embraced the role and wanted the action and combat to be as real and authentic as possible to add to the film and allow for more versatility and options for the cameras while shooting the movies, they have the ability to get far better shots because they don’t have to do as many cutaways or quick takes to hide stunt doubles. Do some searching on KZbin, or go watch the special features on the dvds/Blu-ray’s, it’s all easily accessible and there’s plenty to see and hear both from the crew and Keanu himself.

@@WutangFM Slow it down a bit. I think you should parse the comment that @Wendy's World made, then go do a Google search for that. While everything you said is true, you never said he does stunts. You said he does action. Keanu himself says he doesn't do stunts, he does action. In an interview with Ben Moore of Screen Rant: Ben Moore, "There’s a lot of really intense action in this movie and you do a lot of your own stunts as I understand it." Keanu Reeves, "Well, I don’t do stunts. I do as much as I can."

Best Action Franchise of the New Millenium. Though the Marvel and DC movies have been a lot of fun. John Wick was EPIC!! The fight scenes/gun battles were truly creative. Keanu's RL Martial Arts training lent a very realistic feel to the fight sequences. Fast Paced. Interesting storyline..and is it me or does Keanu just keep getting better looking with time ;-)

I went to see John Wick 4 recently and I loved, absolutely loved, definitely worth seeing. The amount of bad he kills in the new film is astounding, AND the gun towards the end of the film even looks leathel, not only has something like 21 rounds it also has two points/fangs on top of the gun. Even John Wick says, where did you get this?????, Oh I know someone, who got it for me. I can see why John Wick 4 has made so much money. Highly recommended. Good for John Wick, a role Keanu Reeves is born to play. Go and see John Wick 4 at the movies. Definitely worth seeing.

Well, Matrix was William Gibson's books ripoff that at least tried to come with a pretension of complex motivations and deeper character development. In John Wick, the plot is just a paper thin excuse for a constant "stylish" shootout that converges to the same pointlessness as matrix - constant combat between invulnerable characters becomes inevitably boring.
