Great video as usual but these features are all “app updates”. Not sure why apple has to update an entire operating system just to add super basic functionality to already existing apps, it seems like this could be done just by updating the apps instead of trying to force us to update the operating system every year. I remember the days when a new operating system used to bring great features that made a difference.

It does have bigger changes too such as Stage Manager and changes to Spotlight search and system preferences overhaul. The days of Leopard with its 300 new features are gone, it’s always going to be diminishing returns at this point when the OS is already so polished. I’ve only just upgraded but I like Stage Manager for me it will make a difference.

I’m guessing there’s more going on under the hood than most of us realize in the way of security and privacy enhancements that aren’t talked about as much… and for good reason. Why tell the hackers what you’re doing to keep them out? I’ll gladly do a once a year OS update to supplement XProtect if it means keeping us substantially safer. Great content as always Gary!

The sad thing about it is that such minor updates results in bugs, visual inconsistencies and too often in UI/UX failures. The days of Apple delighting users are gone too.

I have a 16 inch MacBook Pro and have been having a lot of problems since I updated to Ventura. Safari crashes, QuickTime crashes, Apps will not update apps… very disappointed. Updates from Apple coming?

For some reasons my continuity camera does not work when I am connected to my mac mini M1 in wireless mode. Even though all the settings are enabled as per the article on Apple's site it still does not work. Created a ticket with Apple Care + and they have factory reset my machine and have mentioned that it takes 24 hrs to 48 hrs before it can work fine.

Just bought my first Mac ever (Mac Studio M1 Max) and I can't believe that cutting and pasting for text and files and done in two different ways. Little usability quirks like this have been driving me crazy. At least I haven't gotten a blue screen of death yet.

Bugs in Mac are different class entirely. Good thing you have a Mac studio and not MacBook. The dock in MacBook becomes unresponsive to touch gestures once in a week and I have to restart the Dock process to make it responsive. Not to mention when Monterey initially came, it had memory leaks everywhere. Hope Ventura fixed this.

@@davidjacobs6244 kinda, but ive been using computers since the late early 80's. used macs since the apple 11e, forced to use windows at work, always used mac for my business and personal needs, I just dislike the lack of "DESIGN" in the MAC oS desktop. sure all the Features are great, but the way they have changed the interface is just so boring and ugly, buttons are no longer buttons, just text with a border around them, the title bars have gone, too much WHITE, need to bring back grey gradients and panels. need to put the graphics back into GUI. all the icons look the same , there is no more hierarchy in the visual design. this may work for web design, but not for complex desktop apps. the traffic light button are too small, and look awful. even the new system font is harder to read than the lucida grande font . its all YUK!
