As soon as I saw "made in Italy" truffle burger next to the car wash, I knew this guy was on point and a miami expert. Can't wait to try his other recommendations. BTW these aren't places you find after visiting for 2 weeks. It's die hard locals stuff.

u really need to try Trinidadian food bc its the best. Trinidadians are a mix between Indian and black that is the main ethnic group there if you didn't know. this is bc indians were brought to trinidad in the early 1800s as indentured laborers and blacks were brought to trinidad from west africa to do work. both the indians and blacks decided to stay in trinidad and make it their home and today their is currently 600,000 indians in trinidad. Alot of the indians in trinidad use their traditions in trinidad in the foods they make etc. trinidad and guyana are two carribean countries with a indian and black population.

Awwww, c'mon man! You never left south of Flagler! There is another whole world of restaurants and trucks up north, not just in Aventura and Miami Lakes but North Miami, Ojus, North Miami Beach--we have terrific Caribbean, Asian, all kinds of cuisines. We even have a KOSHER BBQ joint. You really need to get out of your South Miami, Coral Gables, Doral fixation.

As for Cuban food, and I know I’m going to catch hell for this, but my wife and I loved Versailles over Old’s. Our AirBNB host said go to Versailles only once and then move on. He said it was a tourist trap haha! We ended up going three times. Loved their Cuban Coffee over other places I tried. As for Sanguich and I’m going to catch hell for this too, I didn’t care for their Cuban sandwich. I didn’t like their pickles and the ham had a heavy coriander flavor, which I love but not for a Cuban. I liked Versailles’ Cuban better. Best Cuban I EVER had in my life was at Panaderia Espania in Carolina PR. Oh my god..sooo good!! Overall it’s an amazing bakery with incredible house coffee!
