Hey man, great video. Don’t get too down on yourself, ride these monsters long enough and you’ll end up in this kind of adventure. I live in South Eastern British Columbia and often do a solo “quick” ride and end asking myself how did I get into this predicament and maybe I should sell the R1200 GSA. Love this bike and cannot see myself trading anytime soon. Or riding with buddies on smaller bikes through 20 kilometres of snow 6 inches deep just have them ride away like it is nothing. When the moment is adverse, I say out loud “it’s all part of the adventure” and chuckle about it. Helps me stay calm and figure it out. Also never ride with out my old spot that is pretty rudimentary compared to the inreach but will still have me rescued by family, friends or SAR. I am usually that guy that brings just in case items, in the kit are items to stop major bleeds, make fire, stay warm, make potable drinking water and tools. Hope you continue to post and ride your R1200.

This is really a job for a Honda 300 Rally. Eats it up like corn flakes. Glad you got out!

Ha--I knew you'd make it (otherwise who would have posted the video, right?). I bet next time you'll take more "just in case" gear? One thing I'm dying to know--who makes those green jeans you're wearing?!! They are at least partially responsible for your survival right? I need a pair!

Ayyy! And those pants are my first and only pair of them Kühl brand pants. I bought them 2 years ago on a Moto ride up though the Sawtooths. Cuz my riding pants at the time were unbearably hot. They’ve been pretty sturdy pants. Just regular jeans type that were waxed and brown originally. Double layered throughout. Quite faded and been worn about 1000% more than most of my others! I’d buy em again, but I hope they re engineer their button cuz it constantly unsnaps! And nothing you can do to “fix” it! Besides wear a belt. ✌🏻
