Thank you, Mike - I LOVE List25. As a retired teacher, I know how much hard work goes into putting these lists together. Brilliant - not to mention the incredible job you do with your pronunciation of foreign, scientific and otherwise mind-bendingly difficult names you always get right. Your example, especially to young people, in sharing your struggle with psoriasis, is stellar. And you love dogs! And you have a wonderful sense of humour! Subscribing was a no-brainer! .

I totally relate to the tired creativity mention here. When looking for work, or even just another position where I already worked, I do insanely better at my interviews when I'm extremely tired.

So many psychological issues revolve around attachment. If we learn to let go, things are sooooo much easier, but we have a propensity to hold on. I like using that mindfulness book called 30 Days to Stop Obsessing by Harper Daniels.

11:38 Well, we can only relate to something through our lens and what we’ve experienced. Usually when taking to someone, you’re conveying a circumstance or opinion. It’s only natural to discuss how that has affected you or someone you know.
@j.p.69322 ай бұрын
10:48 That’s kinda what happens to (some) people with ADD. You’re reading or listening to someone, and two minutes later you realize you’re halfway in and have no idea what’s going on.

9:34 The way I was taught it, the Zeigarnik effect was when, because your brain is working on an unsolved question in the background, you suddenly get the answer hours later - seemingly out of nowhere.

I spent my childhood & young adult life never alone as I lived in pubs, I now love quite solitude. Interacting with people maybe good for our health, but it is bad for my mental health! There is only so long I can take the crap going on these days without hurting someone.

9:50 Instant gratification is definitely a hallmark of addiction. You want to feel good now, and you’ll deal with the consequences later. But the most important thing is how you feel right now.

1:54 That’s one of the reasons it’s so much better when, if the L train is stuck and not moving, the conductor gets on the PA and says what’s going on. Just sitting there, not knowing what’s going on, how long it’s going to be, and just envisioning being late is extremely stressful
