I loved your comment at the end "you did what you could and let that be enough" It was exactly what I needed to hear today. Having a busy schedule and a little one makes it tough to always find the time, especially when I used to do at least an hour a day everyday before baby. sigh... today my tight and achy body will allow 25 mins to be enough because there is always later or tomorrow. Thank you

Thank you for this practice Candace! The explanations you gave on how to plug your hands in the mat during downward facing dog really helped me. I used to get mad because my hand were slipping on the mat, not anymore!

Awesome program. This is only my third time with you and I am already doing so much better. Thanks. I had lumbar surgery a few weeks ago and it has been a slow recovery. Your videos are helping me a lot. You go at the perfect pace and your voice is so comforting and encouraging. I like the breathing you teach and swaying from side to side is a great litle extra that makes a big difference.

Thank you for this practice, Candace. I really enjoyed the warm-up for this one, which is probably a weird thing to say, but I found that it just really helped me get connected today. Besides that sway in child's pose to open up the armpits was heavenly. I needed it, as strange as that is, lol.

So I am beginner yogi and I've been practicing for nearly a month now. I am definitely feelings and seeing changes in my upper body strength and balance but not much with my flexibility. Also, hand stands and inversions as well as back bends are very difficult for me... do you have any advice for me to improve in what I lack? Also, I love your videos. They're so helpful with practice and your good vibes are very comforting. Thank you!!
@gaia15777 жыл бұрын
Find a video that helps with flexibility and upper and lower arm strength I would think. Takes a long time I would think, unless you grew up a gymnast or other. How are you these days? I'm a noob but I love how yoga makes me feel better, calmer, more present in the moment.

Hi candace! i've been practicing with you since i started! You're videos are really helpful and I love your sequences! I want to ask you something. Every time i do backbends i feel an intense strech(sometimes a little bit painful, that's were i stop) low in my lumbar. Is this ok? A deep backbend it's supposed to feel like this?
@yogabycandace8 жыл бұрын
+Kostas Naksis Hey there! A deep stretching sensation is ok, but pain is now. Whenever you do deep backbends, think about getting a beautiful U shaped arch in your back instead of a V shape. The V shape puts compression on your low back, and the U shape does not. Hope that helps :)
@kostasnaksis88668 жыл бұрын
+Yoga by Candace Maybe that's the issue, the V shape. For instance when i do urdhva dhanurasana i try to lift my low back as high as possible to get deeper, but i'm going to try to stay grounded and keep the U shape as you said! Thank you very much for the help! you're awesome! :)

Awesome. How often do you recommend to practice this strength training for inversion?
@yogabycandace8 жыл бұрын
+GetFitwithMindy Depends on what you're doing for strength training. But I always say listening to your body is best. If you energy, strength train. If not, don't.

What can you do if you're unable do the push up (lil' embarrassed but I barely made it down before falling on my face)? Is there a good stepping stone move to get to doing a push up?
@yogabycandace5 жыл бұрын
Don't be embarrassed at all! When I started out, I couldn't do one either! So yes, a great way to do it would be to go down onto your knees as you lower down.

With all due respect, when in this video are you targeting the upper body for strength?
@yogabycandace5 жыл бұрын
Hey Mike - the downward dogs, the locust pose variations, the warriors w arm variations, the dolphin poses - all of those help build strength for the upper body. Men generally have much more upper body strength than women, so if you're not feeling it, that's probably why. You could always through a push up or two in the vinyasas during chaturanga for more of a burn.
@lilahnay26777 жыл бұрын
So when I tried the "reverse goddess" part, on both sides, I felt the outside edge and pinkie of the lower hand start to go numb (that is, when I was leaning to the left, the line from the pinkie to the wrist of the left hand). Any ideas what causes this? Is it a matter of how my nerves are arrayed or is it something I can (should?) work on?
@yogabycandace7 жыл бұрын
Not too sure what that might be. Try not to collapse in the side body. Try to stay really elongated.
@ollieotty65677 жыл бұрын
I've noticed most of your yoga routines are Vinyasa, could you do one that's mainly Hatha?
