I never thought dying of a broken heart was bs but my grandfather literally died a month after my grandmother passed away!!!! He legit gave up, he stopped eating, stopped caring for himself, stopped talking, and he just lost it and one day we were trying to clean him up and he just laid down and never got back up....he forgot who we all were and hospice ended up coming in and doping him up until he took his last breath.......my pawpaw was the kind of man that could cut a limb off and duct tape it back on and refuse to go to the dr or er...him and my mawmaw were the cutest couple and they practically raised us and they were so good to us and he loved my mawmaw sooo much....he would pull a pic out of his wallet that was of her when she was around 19 and he would say "look how beautiful my baby is" i miss them so much!!!!!

My dad died of a broken heart - exactly like you said. My mum was killed by a drunk driver in Feb 2013. By November my dad was in the hospital and just gave up. By 2015 he was gone. He became very demented, didn't even know who we were, he just gave up. When he died, everyone was "I'm so sorry..." to me and I just said "he missed mum."

I’m surprised my grandfather didn’t, because sweet, wonderful, homely grandmother was the only woman he ever loved. She came from a family of long-lived people (except for her brother Carl, who drowned while trying to earn his Boy Scout merit badge in swimming), but she died just two days before her 80th birthday when she tripped on a part of the sidewalk that had buckled under a tree root, fell and broke her hip, and then died of hospital pneumonia. My poor grandfather spent 11 miserable years just waiting to die. After her funeral, he gave me her wedding ring, which is a very slim band of white gold with tiny striations along the edges. It’s the most precious thing I own and I take it off only when medically necessary. If my sister had had a girl, I would leave it to her, but she had three boys. Maybe I’ll give it to the brother born right after me to give to a granddaughter. (I guess I should ask him if he has one.)

Broken Heart syndrome sucks. My mom suffered from it twice in a matter of months and the second time she wasn't able to be brought back. We still don't know what caused her to stress out so much that it killed her a few months before she turned 67.

I'm 56 years old and I have never used sunscreen in my life, have never felt a sunburn though I will turn red....for a day, then I turn brown. I think it must be more of a genetic disposition for folks because I've seen folks get sunburn and they seem to be in pain. The most I've ever felt from a sunburn is a slight itch. When I was a kid and would turn red some smarta** would always be around to slap ya on the shoulder and when I'd simply look back at them and smile I think it freaked them out a little.

I am of Middle Eastern origin. The only time I have had a slight sunburn was when I was in the Sinai desert. I don't use sunscreen either (I'm 63.). So I agree with you that it's genetic.

There have been tornadoes , hurricanes and even earthquakes here in the UK . The tornadoes aren't usually as big as the ones in the States but they can do a lot of damage especially in built up areas , earthquakes are also mere tremors compared to most across the world but they too can do a lot of damage . The most famous hurricane in the UK hit southeast England the Channel Islands and parts of northern France , it killed 19 people and caused billions in damage , in October 1987 . BBC Weather Anchor Michael Fish famously said " There are rumours of an incoming hurricane but don't worry it will probably just pass by " .

I can attest that #12 is a true remedy. Story time:😊 I had just gotten a summer cold. It was day 2 of the cold. The way my sicknesses work has pretty much always been the same: day 1, I know I'm sick. Day 2 and 3 is full blown and the worst. Day 4 and beyond is recovery. So this night my friend convinced me to go to this party and the a/c wasn't working in the building so it felt like 100+ degrees in there. Everyone was having a great time even though we all were sweating PROFUSELY. Guys and girls were taking their shirts off and partying in the club (this was mid 2000s during the snap music era: lil jon, Ying yang twins, D4L😅) Woke up the next day like I never even had a cold. I have never gotten over a cold that fast before or since then

Whether or not you believe the whole "son of God" stuff or not, the date of his "birthday" was stolen from the Druids. December is the rainy season in Galilee, so the shepherds would not have been out in the fields with their flocks. The man was more likely born in July. But the early Christians STOLE December 25th, which was the festival when the Druids celebrated that they could finally see for sure that the days were getting longer again, so summer would be returning. I laugh when Christians say the day should be about Jesus, when the truth is that virtually NONE of it has ever had anything to do with him. The decorated tree, the exchange of gifts, the feasting, the holly, the mistletoe -- all DRUID. And ask any child and you'll be told it's all about the LOOT they expect to get from "Santa" -- which again has nothing whatsoever to do with Jesus.

"Irregardless" was considered incorrect as it was initially viewed as an American colloquialism having roots in Western Indiana and South Carolina (citing the etymology in the Oxford English Dictionary). In Webster's New International Dictionary (2nd. ed. unabridged, 1934) the word was described as "an erroneous or humorous form of regardless", and attributed it to the United States. As language evolves, especially in the last twenty-five years, "irregardless" has come into common use and is now included in many different dictionaries.

'irregardless' is not in my Merriam-Webster dictionary, yet their own website claims it is an acceptable word that they (and so they claim, nearly all other dictionaries) define. To me, it is analogous to 'unthaw' as both are self-negating terms. Then there's 'reinterated' and 'alot.' OMG, I *am* a grammar Notzee!

Mike, the weather terms, "High Pressure & Low Pressure" are technically just the opposite. When there is a high pressure area, this means that there is actually less pressure on the gasses we all breathe. Low pressure means that these gasses are pressed closer to the earth. The original barometers were filled with fluid. Looking at this gauge at its highest pressure, the fluid would rise. Low pressure would look like the fluid is lower.
