It's possible that Leah just has an intolerance to gluten instead of having celiacs. So instead of wheat being a huge deal it would, well, be about like someone with a lactose intolerance eating dairy. Unpleasant enough to want to avoid it in most cases, but it wouldn't cause her any serious harm to deal with the discomfort and enjoy a food she really loves, as long as she doesn't do it too often.

Stardew definitely feels like home, and I've never been abroad - spent all my life in Russia. Perhaps it has to do with the fact that Russia is primarily collectivist in nature, unlike the majority of Western countries, who are predominantly individualist. This means that in Russia, we have always valued loyalty and a sense of belonging above all - above success and material wealth. I have a good example of that from my own experience. Back when I was at school, when I finished my research on language, I was told that if I were only to state that my affiliation is with a school in Moscow, I would get a pretty decent monetary reward from the government (because Moscow can afford to support scholarly work with its coffers). If I were to state that I come from a school in my actual hometown - a little port town in the South - I would not get the bonus, since there is no such program of rewards implemented in other regions of Russia. And I chose the latter - a choice my parents supported wholeheartedly. The reward that I could get was equivalent to $10,000, and still I refused. If I were to accept the offer from Moscow, I would be depriving my hometown and my school (which does not teach foreign languages in any form but which I'm still very fond of) of the recognition they deserve. The mayor of my hometown met me in person and shook my hand, and I was featured in a local newspaper. Not a day has passed before market vendors and bus drivers started recognising my face and smiling. It was the most rewarding decision in my life, and now that I think about it, I can't really imagine this kind of thing happening in the US.

I figured out that Krobus actually tastes like black licorice! In one of his dialogues, he mentions that while you were sleeping you nibbled him and mentioned something like "black lick or ish" and is confused as to what that means. I don't like black licorice, but I thought this fact was adorable

Fun fact about the hands: It's most likely a thing to do with the artists style. Lots of artists draw four fingers on people, especially animators. The reason this is is because having 5 fingers usually makes the characters hand look crowded and is harder to animate 5 fingers. Yes, some artists draw 5 fingers but usually you see 4 fingers on a cartoon character due to art style, animation time saving, or so it doesn't look too crowded. Or maybe they're doing a gravity falls and making the number of fingers inconsistent by accident I'm tired of people acting like cartoon characters having 4 fingers Is weird, it's such a common thing to have in character design. Just because you notice a character having 4 fingers doesn't mean anything crazy or groundbreaking. Apologies I went on a mini rant

The Russian version of the Super Nintendo, the Dendy, released in Russia in 1992, and looks kinda similar, so the 1997 theory is still sound.
