My maternal Grandfather was involved in a "Military Study" while serving in the Korean Conflict. He had crippling back pain which was said to be psychosomatic, so he was 'assigned' to the study so he could undergo hypnosis to find the causeof the back pain, since it was entirely mental/emotional. Yes, he told me only once that he had been forced to participate in MK Ultra. I was 13, and he spoke to me frankly about it, just the two of us, since he refused to discuss it with his children, only sharing with me his then only grandchild. I do not know why to this day, but I was and am honored by his trust in my keeping his secrets for him. He could not be hypnotized due to an INTENSE will and lack of trust in any human being, so they dosed him with LSD and then would offer suggestions to find his trauma himself, being guided thru the Trips by three handlers each time he was treated. They did discover his traumas [from so-called Birth Trauma to being pushed down a staircase while at a labor farm his parents sent him to during the Depression because they could not afford to feed him and his sisters] and seemingly successfully guided him to release these issues. Thus he was able to serve as a Radio Gunner on a bomber over Korea, but had to split time with the Study, as the pain would return when he was too stressed. Eventually he was released from duty with an honorable discharge because they never could make the spells of crippling pain stop entirely. The thing is, they gave my Grandpa far too much LSD each time. At least they eased him thru the trips, unlike others whom they tested LSD on. He suffered flashbacks all his life, tho he eventually learned what might trigger the flashbacks and was able to meditate and prevent them much of the time [he was a Closeted Buddhist.] Then, he discovered much later in his 60's that in fact, there was repariable damage to his spine, true and visible physical causes for his pain, which was covered up and handled via MK Ultra instead of discharging him as they should have after the tests and imaging, or performing some surgeries to correct the problems. Seems the handlers thought they could make him believe he was fine and thus he would change his own body to be fine via will power and LSD suggestion. He started warning me very young to never take LSD, privately, when we were alone, because he had been told that his children would have some 'vulnerabilities' to the drug, and might go insiane or catatonic if they took it. This is not true, and bothmy aunt and mother took the drug many times with no lasting effects. Still I've never tried it, and it does not appeal to me. So, even when the subjects were informed about what MK Ultra projects were trying to discover, they were lied to anyway. That program is a black stain on our government's treatment of the citizens, with effects that will continue to be felt for generations to come.

Sounds like your grandad just wanted someone to know what was done to him and maybe to instill a healthy skepticism in you. To be left to think “its all in your head” is beyond fucked up. Im glad he found relief, even if it came bit late. And that he didnt lose his life in these experiments, not all were as lucky (if you can call it that, but you know what I mean). Thanks for sharing, this was super interesting :)

So about #8, this happened to me irl in a pharmacy. My pharmacist told me to dispense a lethally dosed vitamin to an infant, I told the parents to go ahead and take it home but please return the next day to see the manager. They did and my manager was alarmed that the other pharmacist ignored my warnings and pleadings and almost killed an infant.

My favorite story of an individual test subject is Major Thomas. During the beginnings of the space race in the fifties and early sixties, they needed to gain an understanding of limits of human endurance. Major Thomas volunteered for everything. Need someone to strap onto a rocket sled to see how many Gs or acceleration we can survive. Major Thomas to the front of the line. Need somebody to ride the sled, and test how many Gs some one in a harness can survive, in steps the major. Trying to figure out how long a human can stand high temperatures, again Major Thomas steps up. There are films of him sitting on a chair in an oven with a sheet of oatmeal cookies cooking next to him.

When I was in college for my education degree we were told of an experiment from way back. There was a King who thought that babies came straight from heaven and thus knew the language of God and Angels. He thought that if they never heard human language, they would speak that secret language and he could learn the language from them. Do he took many infants as soon as they were born and placed them in a special nursery. He assigned a group of nuns to feed and bathe the infants, but to have no interaction with them otherwise. The infants never developed speech and began banging thier heads on thier cribs and screaming constantly. Supposedly, first documented case of the effects of lack of stimulation on infants.

The Stanford Prison Study was stopped by a PhD student assistant because Dr Zimbardo himself became to absorbed in his role as warden. He even admits to this and agrees that he should have stopped the experiment earlier. I get the feeling that he wasn’t necessarily cruel, he just fell victim to the same psychological principle he was studying.

About a year ago, I had come home around 10pm, exhausted, wanted to go to sleep. Had recently gotten a small black rescue kitty, Princess, for my son. I opened my door, saw Princess, picked her up, sat down on the bed with her in my lap. She recoiled, arched her back, hissed furiously, looking directly past me onto the bed. IConfused, i turned, which was when i saw a medium sized copperhead snake coiled up on my comforter, poised to strike. I grabbed the kitten, ran out of the room. I called a friend, and we finally found the snake in my room and killed it. It had gotten in through a window which had been left partially open. That snake would have struck me about mid-back without Princess' warning. I have liver damage, and a snakebite there would surely have killed me. This tiny kitten, rescued from a parking lot, saved my life that night. She's my hero.

While I was studying psychology at an Australian University the class I was in were shown a number of images supposedly of middle Eastern people. We were asked to identify "the Jewish people". I squirmed in my seat as we all started the "test/assignment". After 5 or 10 mins I stood up and spoke to the lecturer stating that this (class exercise) was just the same as the Nazis did but worse because we know better than to carry on like this. I will not be a Nazis and will not participate in this bullshit exercise". I think my language was a lot more colourful so the lecturer was left in no doubt about how I felt. I suppose I did well considering if I found myself in a similar situation today I'd accompany my tirade with a punch known colloquially as a "king hit". Maybe I should have been more assertive when I was younger. This is an edit. I can still feel the rage of that day. My mother was German and lived through the ii world war. I was absolutely fuming when I walked out and right now really do wish I'd clobbered that arsehole.

The ECT reminded me of Return to Oz. I assume the movie was after the ECT experiments. Since it's no longer ethical yo call it Aspergers, as Dr. Asperger was giving children that he didn't need to the Nazi concentration camps, I wonder what his experiments entailed and if the rejected children were also experimented upon. Actually it's a huge pet peeve of mine after working in the industry so long. Pet microchips are not GPS trackers. A battery for a tracker would be too large to fit in such a small chip. I assume the same goes for human chips. (Silently screaming inside).

I just have to throw this out there since it's been a big deal lately: I believe sexual reassignment should NOT be performed on anyone under 18yrs old unless it's necessary due to, for example the circumcision story, or another kind of emergency. After seeing stories of kids who had reassignment and then later said they wish they had never been allowed to undergo that surgery. If they still want to be the opposite gender at the age of 18 then they should be allowed to do so, but a child is always changing their ideas and likes, they don't truly know what they want and it's abuse in my opinion to put them through such surgeries.

I am sharing because I want people to use Microchips for their pets. They can make the difference between a pet staying in a shelter or going home. RFID in pets does not track pets. It is a chip that sits under the skin, and only when scanned will it provide a number that can be used to contact the maker of the chip. In return the chip maker will provide contact information for the pet owner. I assume if it is used for people, that it would work the same way the person would have to agree to have it scanned for it to work.
