I recently acquired a couple of these chest rigs, supposedly Vietnam Era. They are green which you indicate are 1970's era. I ran into a Taiwanese lady yesterday and she said the bottom markings said "66" so I'm thinking date of manufacture is 1966. Very well made. I'm not a re-enactor, but rather a collector. Very informative video, thanks!

I picked one up form yourself back around 2008, just recently had it modded to accept 1" buckles for modern standard chest rig back straps and added velcro for the pockets since I'm more about speed and ease than stealth. Great kit and video as always.

It would have been a good idea to give you a short and a long strap so that it would be possible to tie (or clip using buckles) it up without assistance. I suspect that manufacturing is easier with the straps the same length.

I have a few of these, I bought them from some website for $20 a piece. Still very functional and very well made. I just need to put buckles on the back straps.

Ah so the vinyl is for the Oil bottle pouch! That makes sense, I always thought mine was just missing it on one side! Also I thought I recognized the shop and yourself, I bought a DDPM boonie from you at the National Airsoft festival! Thanks for the great content and goods

I'm guessing the oil can pocket was for the Type 56 can. But do you know if it was intended to be used with the type 59 grenade? Also do you happen to know the exact name/ nomenclature for the cleaning kit? Thanks!

You can only carry 3 AK magazines I carry 2 Type 56 chest rigs in battle to have 6 magazines.
