I turn 21 this year and I've had to learn the opposite. I hate asking people for help and talking about personal problems, so I often fight my battles alone but I've learnt that some fights are easier to win when you have an army behind you. Although I hate talking about my personal issues, it's crazy how many battles could have be won if I had gathered my army sooner

Hi I know I'm not Olena, but as someone who has ptsd and complex trauma and didn't think they'd survive to see their 18th birthday I hope I can help a little bit. Therapy is number one thing to do for inner work. Professional help is extremely important because it gives appropriate guidance and is a safe space to unload rather than like Olena said dumping it on our loved ones or worse- not dealing with it at all and jumping from one distraction to another. #2 spiritual wellbeing- whether you're religious or not, meditation and positive thinking are a huge step in getting better and helping yourself. Mindfulness is a type of grounding technique often prescribed by therapists and psychologists as a way to quiet down and focus on the current moment instead of dwelling on the past or stressing about the future. #3 pampering yourself- this can be anything that makes you feel happy and taken care of. It really increases self-respect and self-confidence as you start seeing that you're worth being treated well. This helps to build healthy relationships as it's important to have a healthy relationship with yourself first. Kind of like a patent for how to treat others and how you should be treated. #4 having balance in your life- finding enough time for things that are truly important i.e. rest, responsibilities, family/friends, fun activities/working out. #5 looking after your health. This includes eating healthy, rather than trying to lose weight. Taking supplements, resting enough. Lack of appropriate nutrients can impact your mental health massively. Plus showing to yourself that your health is important also increases your self-esteem. #6 writing a journal of things you want to change and what you need to do to change those things. Then recording your progress in the journal. I hope this helps! Wishing you good luck! I know it's a tough journey and I'm also still working on myself but we can do this 😊

As a follower of Christ, when we’re born again in Christ we die to ourselves and live for him. Our lives aren’t ours anymore we should be living fully for him to do his will and further his kingdom. The Bible tells us it’s God first, others second and ourselves last. That doesn’t mean to ignore our own needs because as you said before, self care is definitely important however society perpetuates this notion that self everything is what we should focus on solely. Self care, self esteem, self development, etc…that’s all fine but as a born again believer that’s contrary how we’re called to live. I love being a servant of Jesus and for Jesus.
