***** I didn;t say the people don't like foreigners (although I also wouldn't categorize the Japanese as overtly American loving people either. They tollerate us a visitors). I said it isn't foreigner friendly - as in you wont find them catering to Western Language and customs as they do in Mexico, Canada or Europe - foreigner friendly countries where it might benefit a first time traveler to be able to spend more of their time on vacation vacationing, rather than trying to find someone who is willing to speak English to you and give you directions. Japan is a great place to travel if you're experienced with traveling, know a little about the language, or have friends that can take you who do speak the language. The alternative would be to travel to Japan on a guided tour. I have traveled to Japan six times, was previously married to a Japanese citizen - speak the language like a 5 year old child and can read and write enough to recognize the characters on the local subway trains. Most of my trips were for 30 plus days at a time. I owned a business here in the US that did business with Japan explicitly.

Somebody takes the time and effort to make a wonderful, helpful and fun video to share with complete strangers ... and instead of appreciation and thanks there are those who decide to write a critique of the presenter's style! Please ignore these people Mark. Sadly they probably have had bad experiences in their lives that has drained the joy from them. Let's hope they find that inner happiness that you so clearly have! I've been to Japan once and loved it so much that I am going back for another visit and I plan to check out about 23 of your "things to do" - so a very big thank you from me p.s. I guess the criticisers' Mums never taught them the rule "if you have nothing NICE to say, say NOTHING"! :)

I can't believe all the hateful comments on this and other videos by Mark. One unfortunate thing about the internet are all the anonymous keyboard trolls that have nothing better to do with their lives than post mean spirited comments. I see nothing wrong at all with Mike's facial expressions when eating, and his happy smile and demeanor is a welcome change from all the bad things that happen in the world.. In fact it brings a smile to my face seeing his expressions because it's almost like I can sense how delicious the food is. A lot better than just describing what makes a food taste great.

I appreciated this video and it's content. I had been recommended a number of places mentioned here beforehand, but did, in fact, get a couple of important recommendations here that I will definitely visit on my upcoming trip to the city. But at the same time, I felt like I was looking at a poorly optimized webpage or something in video format: this dude must have said the word "Tokyo" thirty times, or more! Moreover, he continuously made this upsetting and strange face whenever he ate a bite of food. The content is great; the presentation is bizarre. Clean it up a bit, and then you'll have a really excellent video!

I think this was a perfect travel video. What you call 'video format', I call clear, concise information. As for Mark's facial expressions, they're one of his trademarks and it's called joy. He loves food and so do we, and if you don't like it, you came to the wrong channel.

+Dixcity totally agree with the weird eating face. he needs to be more upbeat. the whole video was gloomy and depressing , his narration didnt help.

Definitely, your video is awesome and helpful, what I dont like the most is when It seems that the food was all great. you have that one face impression to all food you've taste, I know what will happen next when you taste food, you will pause and nod ur head and annoying part, you will close your eyes. Thanks for sharing though!

great video. Adding these 25 places to my trip planning in March. Thanks Mark cant wait for the food. Any place you recommend to eat at first? Arriving at hotel at around 800 pm
@redfish3378 жыл бұрын
Assuming you're eating after dropping off all your stuff at the hotel, you wouldn't be eating until after 9pm most likely. So, I'd suggest researching a good ramen shop, as those hold later hours overall. Additionally, while some do have lunch specials of free oomori/kaedama noodles or rice, the price is the same all day and never really THAT high, so it's always a good choice late at night. (I think he states in this video the truth that you tend to want to have your good/big meal for lunch due to price changes lunch vs. dinner).
@ericpelkey27888 жыл бұрын
Awesome. Thanks for the info. Ramen was on top of my list just by what I heard.

+Disciplez Crew He doesn't really buy things on his trips, and most of his points are pretty broad. If he did anything like that it'd probably be Eorzea or something like that with a stronger food angle. Last I heard the only Pokemon Cafe was a temporary one. Anyway, even though I really like the gaming angle personally, even I'd probably only put it in the 51-100 range of things to do... and if I was aiming more for a general audience then it may be more in the 101-200 range...
