Doesn't have to be fully behind for shock Lance full damage, just behind the centre line that crosses across the centre of the model from left to right. This means you can hit them for some pretty deep side angles and insta kill.

its a pretty generous window, you just need to get the muscle memory of ski-boost jet + 180 + discjump!

New skill to learn in t3 is to learn how to do a 3 pointer with the flag and punt it to your flag stand like a basketball

You missed the most important part; have fun. Having fun is more important than capturing the flag, taking the game too seriously both pushes away new players and makes long term players bored and frustrated with the same cookie cutter matches over and over again.

You are correct. I left the dream of becoming great at tribes ages ago. Of course I'll do my part when it's a serious match but I get most of my kicks just f'ing around in pubs going after really good players and getting one or two good shots in on them.

FWIW, lots of new players have joined the PUG community lately and are jumping into PUGs. I won't lie, it's a bit like being thrown to the wolves -- I'd like to do another Newblood PUG event -- but if you stick with it, you'll have a blast.

@@omgitsfishstix yeah. I've played against Jagle, Tritium, you, APC (not all at once of course lmao) in pubs and in ranked back when ranked q was actually populating games. It's always intimidating to be the newbie, but at least matchmaking removes a lot of the social aspect of it. In pugs I'll have to talk to people and not feel like I'm annoying them that's the more scary part. I might try to work up the courage to jump on tonight. 16v16 is not as fun and it's actively making me lose interest in the game.
