It doesn’t take a psychopath to need both metric and imperial measurements. Just go north. Here in Canada it’s not unusual to find plywood sold as 4 feet X 8 feet by 19 mm. Living next to the U.S. means wrestling with both. I won’t even go into recipes that mix Fahrenheit, Celsius, milliliters, cups, ounces, and grams. But we love you anyway.

Another great video with honest dialogue on tools. Even though it was an ad, mental health is no joke. I had several injuries working as a firefighter that ended my career. My wife and family stood with me as I dealt with the demons of feeling broken, a failure and not a man any longer. Lost. Found a therapist that helped me. There is nothing wrong with getting help!

Please name ALL the tools that you introduce. You leave name brand and model number and price. so… Instead of being a good instructional video, it ends up being just another man, using space on youtube to man-splain himself . As a fellow veteran, its sad to see the gonad macho mentality dominate the air in the video. Argh!!!! Nomenclature man, nomenclature!!!!!!!!!

Paulk really did come up with a better design when he made his bench with a full size shelf under it. It does make it possible to store tools under the surface, and catch the fall through. The rest of the bench is specific to how he works, but even if you want the festool sized MFT, it may make sense to make the two layer bench.

Great video!! Thank you!! I have a DF 500 and LOVE it (especially with the KV connectors). I have spent a fair amount of time looking at the Lamello and I really love the various connectors that they have (the Invis mx2 looks so amazing too). I would very much be interested in a video where you discuss some times when one system would be preferred over the other (basically to help me justify pulling the trigger on the Lamello :) ). Thank you for you service and being open and honest about getting help!!

The Bessy dog hole clams with the TSO dogs are a great idea. All above the table usage. I'm a poor wood worker. I use a Kreg auto adjust clamp, with a Milescraft screw on baselock to do the same thing. The advantage is I can use this clamp system with my MFT, my Drill press ( Drilled 20mm dog hole in it), and with my DeWalt folding work stations (3/4" or 19mm) as well.

I've been using the Grabo's for a couple of years and they are very much worth the money. I'm a one person shop and they have made my life so much easier when moving sheets of plywood to my saw. However, the Rockler Material Mate Panel Cart is the second part to moving sheet goods. Use the Grabo to get the plywood to the Material Mate, then flip the MM up to slide the plywood onto the table saw. I've used the Grabo's to move stone around too when I've made walkways. Having two is even better. Great video, as usual!

Thanks for sharing some great options here. I do really wish we could all just decide to ignore people who complain about professionals using professional tools in woodworking. I don't see this as much in other hobbies that are also professions on KZbin and I'm so tired of the fact that creators have to apologize every time they bring out a domino or other pro tool. Guess what people we all know you can do things with cheaper tools but pros don't have to if they don't want to. Their time is literally money.

I bought a Grabo about a year ago and it's so good at lifting 4x8 sheets of most material. I recently used it to lift a window on my car after the motor lift fried out. I just attached it to the outside of the window, and while I pressed the button on the inside the window started to go up until it closed. Of course I got lucky because the window wasn't completely down, so it still had some surface to grab on to. Great tool, you won't regret it if you get one.

You can make a very accurate test bar out of a piece of plywood and 3 screws. More than accurate enough for setting up tools. the means of setting it can be to mirror the surface of a known flat one like a jointer table, or a granite reference surface. However there is a way to make it accurate if you do not have a reference surface, and it is described in issue 142 of FWW, if you have a subscription. (I just remember reading it back then). Very useful for setup, or when buying machine tools of unknown quality (which is most of them at this point).

Jason, I've been saving up for a Fuji HVLP Sprayer for the past several months, but after you're multiple videos raving over the Graco Quick Shot you've pretty much changed my mind to save a bit longer to go for it. I you've demonstrated how easy it is to use and clean, and I love how small the grip portion is for getting inside of cabinets compared to the HVLP guns. What FF LP tips do you use for your clear finishes? Other than your videos I'm really only finding contractors on KZbin using this system for painting.

Great video, as always 👍. I love seeing the latest gadgetry that makes things easier, faster, better, even I can’t afford them right now. Let the Haters Hate. Lol I can confirm that the Bessey parallel clamp extenders do work with other brands. I have a bunch of Bremen parallel clamps from Harbor Freight and they fit just fine with Bessey Extenders. As the saying goes. You get what you pay for. One of my clamps already stripped in one spot. Might have Over Cranked it? Don’t know if Bessey's ever strip out? Never owned them. I’m newer to woodworking so they haven't had a ton of use yet. They do come with a lifetime warranty. I think HF does that just to get you back in the store to buy more stuff. I'll be eligible to retire in September 2024 😂 37 Years of Commercial Flooring installation…. I'm currently building a Workshop in my 22x25 garage. Been working day & night on it for over a year. Wifey startin to get a little ehem… you know… So I promised we would finally go on a nice Vacation for our 30th Anniversary coming soon. That got her Happy Again… Time to buy and build more stuff in the garage. lol Starting from just one old chop saw, and now going Full Blown Work Shop. It takes a hell of alot of time and $$ I try to stretch my dollar on some items, when I can. Sometimes you win. Sometimes you lose. I don't cheap out on everything though. Thanks to learning from you and and too many others to name. I did buy a Sawstop 3hp Harvey G-700 Dust Collection System Harvey Alpha Band Saw I Did buy my full size drill press from Harbor Freight though... lol... Works Great! Also got (Nordfab like) Air Ducting from THE BLAST GATE COMPANY in Warren Michigan for anyone looking into Metal Snap together Ducting. They are pretty much the same as NordFab for a Way Better Price. I read their parts fit together with Nordfab if that says anything? I wish I had the time to video and edit everything I have done. A drastic change. It’s finally all coming together. For those who think Content Creators have it easy… If I were to have taken the time to record and edit and post everything I have done in my shop. I’d probably be a year behind schedule…lol Keep up the Great Work!

Glad you mentioned the Dewalt Cordless router. I’ve been thinking about getting a cordless. I have several routers. But I generally have one router doing one task…. And then I have to keep replacing the bit to do another. And back and forth with my trim router. And….adjustment on my colt is crazy. I already have some Dewalt drills and batteries. So i wouldn’t need to get different batteries. I got the reamer tool another time you suggested it. I don’t use it often. But SOOO glad I have it. It was worth it. Lots of good stuff. I’m still really hoping that one day I’ll be able to get that sprayer.

Long Bessy clamps, absolutely, game changer compared to other options. Bosch laser, check, had one for about 12 years and use it all the time still accurate. My latest favourite tool that I wish I’d bought years ago is the mains powered Dewalt 1/4 router that you have. Awsome. Soooo much better than all the others. The height adjustment is superb. It is just leaps and bounds better than anything I’ve tried before. Of the other things you mention I think the Lamello or the Graco ultimate quick shot appeal the most or a Brad point nailer, but I just don’t do enough work on the the sort of projects that require them to warrant the outlay unfortunately😢or a domino. Maybe I need to dream up the projects so I can warrant the outlay!!! 😮😂

For the lazer measurer, the new Bosch green laser is the best. The glm 50 blaze is great but it measures everything to the 32nd but only has 1/16 accuracy, The new green laser one you can set the reading to go no further down than a 16th. It's a pain to be converting 17/32 in your head while you are measuring a job. Green laser levels by Huepar are 1/2 the cost of the Bosch one you showed.

Forget all of those setup blocks and get JessEm's Tool Setting Gauge. More adjustment, smaller footprint for storage and works for height, depth and even on it's side. All in one tool.

Hey Jason - Great video! Thanks for sharing your favorites. I do have a question for you. With all of the tool options you showed, I am curious as to what brand of dead blow hammer you use. The one I had spit along the seam and I am looking for a new one. Can you share what brand you use (if you like it) and what weight you like? Thanks so much!

Interesting note about the Makita router. I would have gone to that one due to the battery platform I already have. I also remember being a bit peeved about the play gun not having Makita battery pack. Well, that's now two tools potentially worthy a second battery platform....

That grabo seems to be a missed opportunity. It could be formatted so that it could be easily gripped in a vise to hold things you need to work on. I use vac chucks to hold guitar parts, but this could work out of the box for people who bought it for other things if they had a way to hold it.

First, thank you for your service. Appreciate the sacrifice. WRT the air quality system. Would it need to be placed closer to the area where there’s a greater concentration of debris? I would think the concentration decreases significantly the further away it is from the source, maybe even exponentially.

And the Festool counter sink bits and hinge bits are amazing! Tell Sedge to get the CE-Sort installer set stateside. Not the cheap little blue case from last year either. 576804 (don’t ask what I paid to get it here…) 😂😂

I do have to say for drill bits wood owl ultra smooth augur are also very nice bits they are my go to for somethings the have a tripple flute and are kinda like a mix between a brad point and a normal augur bit Like the name implies they make a ultra smooth hole.

I like the makita trim router much better personally. Better balance, smaller, batteries are much better and last much longer, has soft start, etc. I can live with the adjustment on the makita for all the other benefits.

I went over to Fagma. Could you please provide the number of the set of Brad point & Forstner bits. The bits are assigned numbers for the various styles. These folks are producing some serious bits. I sure do appreciate your help. I am going to pick up the exact sets you have. Sans the BIG set. WHEW!! Thank You!
