I watched your Hammer video. I am getting the A3 31. The information you provided was very helpful in the decision process. Have you considered adding an overhead lift point with a chain hoist near the door opening? This is what I have done and find it very easy to unload heavy equipment from packaging and set it on a mobile base assy. Thanks for the great information!

Trigger clamps are an absolute necessity in a small shop. They are a 3rd hand when you're working alone and they are one-handed. Try using any other clamp with one hand.

I hate that you glossed over attaching the outside splinter guard because yours seems to have the same issue mine does. The provided “rotary knob” doesn’t engage with the hole provided at all. It literally just falls out and will not hold the splinter guard on.

I see you have a new DC. Why did you switch to the Oneida from there Harvery? I'm in that boat right now needing a new unit and the Harvey was on my list.

It's most hooah! Very high-speed! I think adding a felt (like jewelry box) would have have been good to keep the pieces from banging around.

I’m curious what sharpening system you go with for hand tools, as performance seems to supersede cost in your shop.

That was an awesome project Jason. I got a dumbass question for you. Where did you find the black plugs for your MFT table. Every I go they only have the type with a slightly round top which of course project above the surface. I'm a Marine you need to be specific and I can understand it. Unless you want it blown up. You met my son and grandson at a show you were at in Atlanta. My grandson was in a wheelchair. Thank you, Ed

I enjoyed Jay's older pre CNC build days. Good videos and excellent builds. Unfortunately the weekly grind of KZbin pushes creators into quick production and the cnc takes over.

Excellent info. Exactly what I was looking to hear from some who has both tools. My take as I get ready order the 500 for an oak entry door project, I can double the a smaller domino for very large glue surfaces like 1-3/8 stock 6" long, in other words use 4 dominos.
@frankshannon32353 күн бұрын
I've used this method and I like it. But I prefer using the plastic feet in kitchens and bathrooms. You can pop the toe kick off and store things like extra floor and wall tile underneath. And two inches of water means nothing. Especially if you are there to pop off the toe kick before it gets wet but even if it does it's just a strip of ply.

I appreciate your comparison. I was thinking there would be something more to it, to justify the price tag, now I know there is not. The Festool 500 is $1200 and the 700 is $1700 on Amazon today (11/22/24). NO THANK YOU!!!

I made one of these from scrap wood recently. It works great but its more bulky than the castle one. One thing is I am using a straight bit, not an upcut spiral. It still works well, and was $14 instead of $40. Also, I want to remake the jig to use a compact dedicated router, and did not see 3/8" spiral bits using 1/4" shank. So I need to find that and will pay now that I know the thing works really well.

Narration is a good thing. I can't stand those silent tips and tricks videos -- no information. Sometimes, it's not so obvious what the heck they're trying to accomplish. Most of us aren't mind readers. You're excellent "as is!" 🙏🏻
