Ghana is not heaven but it’s more than peace to mean. It’s the people, the smells, the sweat , the smiles etc. Now the govt needs to make life easier for these entrepreneurs by building better roads and infrastructure and then we will be ok.

The government doesn’t generate enough tax revenue to allocate the limited resources to build the infrastructure you want.

There should be a BIG national campaign to register every artisan:- carpenter, electrician, plumber, hairdresser for income tax. It's a matter of patriotism. I was astonished at the size of the informal cash economy when building our house. Ghanaians complain about potholes, incomplete road projects but what are they contributing? But the problem is tax goes with trust. No one has confidence Ghanaian government will spend the tax revenues wisely, so they don't register. 🤷🏾 Catch 22.

Hi Tim, I work as an engineer in the US now but I was born and grew up in the eastern regional part of Ghana for the most part of my adult life. I just want to let you know that young black professionals who are still figuring out what life is about outside of our work life find your content educative and inspiring especially this one. I admire the fact that you focus on problem-solving driven conversations on your content rather than focusing too much only on the problems which in most cases is counterproductive.Keep up the good work!

Not unreasonable to EXPECT that care and diligence is taken in creating a structure. The mindset among some Ghanaians is oh, just relax. The response by us coming from the west is NO. You are being paid, given sufficient time, do the job right. Not taking forever, not getting to the last part and finishing it half azz or not at all. Further, Stop the euphemisms and 🐂 crap, theft is tolerated. Honesty, not coddling will improve the situation. I could go on and on!

Just one correction..it’s not the average age…it’s the median age in these countries that makes Europe or China not the future destination…which is even more dire.

There is the need for home owners associations and local chambers of commerce to help improve local infrastructure. Some builders wait on government to construct the roads to their doorsteps. That is not done even in the US. Nevertheless, local and national government should work harder.

Ghanaians don't trust their government to deliver on infrastructure on time or on budget. There are abandoned government projects all over the country. Rather than complete projects, they begin new ones! It is election year - they have already begun announcing big new infrastructure projects. The diggers and tractors are paraded for the cameras and then all disappear together with the capital funding.
