But Ross that now means the whole video educating us if the travis has anymore value then regular Jordan 1s is false. I was legit curious if Nike made their limited collaborations any better then their general releases.. the main thing u missed about sneaker reselling is supply & demand. There are less pair’s available, hence they are harder to buy at retail so people are willing to pay more. Supply & demand. If u take issue with sneaker reselling then u need to be upset about EVERY limited product in existence..

Yeah, every time he cuts a shoe or boot in half, there's a tally in the lower left that goes up for the total amount of "damage" the channel has done so far. The total from the previous video was at around $69.5 K or so. The fact that it only went up to around $69.89K when these were sliced was a red flag for me.@@OGbobbyKUSH

As someone who takes messed up sneakers and restores and resells them, I approve his message. Nobody should have to pay extra money for a new sneaker that someone else got just because they bought them. They put no effort no skill in getting the shoe. You're paying for their technology in acquisition. And then once the electronics are paid for, you're facilitating them to continue the trend. If you're going to buy a shoe that has value, buy an older retro or an OG show that someone spent actual time and skill and materials on to lovingly restore and put back out into the world for someone else to love and cherish.

@@jihigh482 actually, I'm saying that people should give craftsmen the money instead. ANYONE, who gives new life to the once thought, "dead" shoes. You're trying to make it about me. And my comment was more about people who literally do nothing and have no skills, making hundreds or thousands or hundreds of thousands of dollars while a bank of computers backdoor buys a stock of shoes and then lists them on resellers websites and then they collect the profits. It's sickening. And then, hype beasts just don't even bother to think twice about shelling out their money for whatever shoe even though it's 3, 4, 500 dollars or more over retail.

Here's a little story: Tom Ritchey, mountain bike pioneer, designed a seatpost (the bit that holds the seat to the frame of a bike) back in the late 80s for his line of mountain bikes. He got Nitto, a famous and high-quality manufacturer of bike parts in Japan, to make them, and put his name on them. They were pricey, because of Nitto's famous attention to detail and quality of materials and construction. Despite the $$$, they sold really well, and became an iconic design. Pretty soon, a really large bike component company in Taiwan, Hsin Lung, copied the design, reasonably well, perhaps cutting a few corners, but they were ok: they didn't break or fall apart or anything like that. Ritchey (the company, not Tom himself) had stern words with them about patent infringement, etc. But they didn't sue Hsin Lung: they gave them the contract to produce the seatposts, with a few design tweaks to raise the quality of their counterfeit items to an acceptable level. Nitto were understandably angered & chagrined, but there was nothing they could do, as their production costs were ⅓ higher than the Taiwanese company. Looks like good quality sneaker fakes are treading (hrm) the same path . . .

If anything, you've taught us a greater life lesson. Things are only worth what you MAKE or CONSIDER them to be worth. That could apply to sneakers, clothes, cars, etc. I used to be so much into sneakers when it was just camping outside of a store. Once raffles started it kinda killed the culture for me. You started hearing qeird stories about store employees gaming the system. The masses had caught up to the culture. Soon after raffles came the bots. I had a rule of not paying over retail for sneakers with maybe a few exceptions. So my journey was basically done once resale culture became so prevalent.

i stopped buying Nike shoes year ago. they fall apart far too quickly. I remember having these red ones years ago and when the sole came away from the upper after a year, it felt like they ‘should have lasted longer than that’.

I used to spend more time than I would care to admit on the rep sneakers subreddit, and TS1s were by far and away the most commonly posted shoe for QC. I actually did suspect that these were fake immediately after seeing them and I am glad that I was proven correct (but also a bit sad that I was actually able to recognize it). Main flaws that stand out to me personally is that the swoosh seems too sunken down, and the color of the shoe itself is a bit too dark (though this also could be a lighting thing, etc). The toebox is also a bit high but sometimes this does happen with real pairs. I dont own these reps, but I remember looking through hundreds of peoples posts wanting QC on this pair. I love my reps (nearly identical shoe for a fraction of the price) but it really is crazy looking back on how ridiculous times were, and still continue to be to some extent

same regarding r/repsneakers. I haven't LCed a pair in so long I didn't even notice lol. Personally Ive been saying for years on my rep reviews that I don't care about flaws because the average person and average sneakerhead can't tell a rep and retail apart. Sure for the review I'll point out every single little difference but personally I don't care.
@bujuhhh
@bujuhhh Жыл бұрын
@@NonLegitNation2 Yep pretty much, as a newbie I was super cautious of all the little possible mistakes and flaws, but as the collection grew I started to realize that pretty much nobody cares, and thats even assuming that they would be able to spot a flaw in the first place. Unless you are in like high school, you arent going to get approached by a random in public who comes up and says 'hey ackshully your toebox is high and the stitching around the front panel is 1 mm off of what normal retails look like'. Worrying about that stuff is a bad mindset to get into, as long as they dont have any egregious flaws, wear with confidence!

I'm always surprised what kids will go crazy over. I grew up wearing Cortez Classics and Dickies with a pressed t-shirt. All these newer shoes have never looked that good to me. But then again we didn't spend half our day in front of advertising.

If these are fake, then how do we even know if the actual release uses even this quality of leather compared to their usual?
@IcarusSuite
@IcarusSuite Жыл бұрын
Even if it was better, they're not worth 2.5k And let's be honest, this channel has already explored enough Nike's to determine that no model, no matter how "premium" they advertise it, is truly good quality.
@decotYT
@decotYT Жыл бұрын
@@IcarusSuite I wasn't trying to justify the price tag. I was more curious as to whether this fake actually used better quality materials than the genuine product, which would only make the resale value more ridiculous.

Another issue is that reps companies do their best to make sure that their product, even fake, is at highest quality, and I am talking about AAA Fakes, whereas Nike, doesnt care about quality as they already are an established company. From this point of view I would buy AAA Replicas for 250$ then pay 2500$ for these

So i started buying boots instead, at least you know they're built to lsst and real leather !

I agree, even tho the main reason imo is that it’s just stupid to spend that much for a pair of shoes if you’re an average person. Ofc if you’re a millionaire then this doesn’t apply. But I don’t see the point of spending so much and then not even wearing the shoes cuz you’re afraid of ruining em

This is why I watch your channel and why I believe it's valuable. I don't have the money to buy and test all these different boots and shoes, and I never have had that kind of money. Because of that, I want to make sure my purchases are as cry-once as possible, and on something good quality. I'd see the simple fact that these Nikes are made in China as the reason to never buy them. I sold my pair of Nikes because they fit like trash and were made in China, and I was shocked at how much I was able to resell them for. Anyways, I thank the Rose Anvil crew for these fantsstic and informative videos, and one day I will buy your products!
