Tom Petty was real, honest, the man had integrity. It is hard to believe he is gone. So many have left us. I don't know about you , but Ive always been aware that these greatest of the great Rock and Rollers were all going to go in the same basic time frame. I am grateful that I was born in the times they were but just a little younger so that as they were becoming super stars yet were still approachable, That I was ready for all they had to give us. Thank you all who have passed and us who will pass as well. I am so happy I was born when I was. Tom and all of you gave me a good life. I would not trade times with anyone.

@@michaelbennett6461 It's OK to be an ungrown-up man and cry. I understand what you are saying. Mercifully we have some tremendous CDs and DVDs and video and on and on and on and on and on and Tom. And it is a shock with someone that is halfway decent passes. Sometimes it's not so much a shock when someone like a jerk passes. We feel pain for the family. But a sense of relief.. But this one was GD difficult. So now it's past another October 2022 and we are still celebrating Tom. So please take care of yourself. It's all good.

Tom Petty is one of the best in the rock music business. He did not need to use face paint like the band kiss or jump in the air or be flashy any other way. He just played that good old rock music and you could sing along and knew every word. That is what made him one of the best.

Tom Petty is great, love his music. With that being said Kiss did not use face paint to make it in the business. Kiss wanted to give people something that they never seen before. Back then Concerts were just ok, guys walking out on stage in blue jeans and T shirts and just standing there and playing. The only bands back in the day that could pull that off and give a really good show were Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, The Who, AC/DC, Nugent just to name a few. Kiss put on a show, the greatest show on earth from beginning to end, you got your money's worth and then some. I'm telling you right now if you never seen Kiss live you missed out, it would be the greatest concert you ever seen period. I have seen so many concerts too many to list and Kiss put on the best show.

My favorite artist ever. If I don't dance to "Refugee," then people know I'm dead. Played Petty on a 3 hour trip home w/a rescue dog several years back. Willow had been very restless on the 4 hour journey to get to the meeting point. Once she was in my car w/Petty songs rather than the Christmas music the other driver had played, Willow calmed right down. She still lies in front of the speakers when I play Petty music.

@@emceehamma3693 what a beautiful story. Though I never met Tom, (except through his music), he is just an all around great, humble, caring, loving man. I miss Tom terribly! totally saw the pain, ( I guess when you suffer that serious pain, it’s easy to see it in others). Doctors these days absolutely refuse to prescribe meds that can make some ones life at least tolerable. My heart just breaks knowing that he didn’t have to die. Same with Taylor Hawkins, a 50 year old man or woman cannot be expected to perform consistently show after show, like when they were in their 20’s. Taylor like Tom, so loved the joy and happiness they gave their fans. So glad Tom and Dana ‘found’ each other! What a couple, they radiated love and light. Tom was so loved by, and enjoyed his time with Dana, they both just radiated peace, love and light. Tom, thank you for the gifts you shared with the world, you are so missed.

I started a conversation with Tom at the red light and we chatted about Don Felder and Mudcrutch. Tom seemed surprised by my knowledge of him and the music scene in Gainesville. He asked what we were doing in the next hour...I said "whatever you want us to do". He said follow us...We drove up to Tom's place, the one that burned down. We smoked and enjoyed some fine single malt...with Tom Petty and George fucking Harrison. My life seemed complete that day. R.I.P. Tom and George

What a great story to tell the kids and friends! Lucky dog! I used to go to school in Gainesville, but never got to see him. This concert is one of my all time favorites. Can you tell me where this was played? I'd love to buy to CD and DVD. Please let me know. Thank you!

Their covers were almost as good as the original songs. As a fellow Boomer, we grew up with the same songs and fashions. RIP I love your music and guitars.

Floridas' real rock and roll band. I never got to see them play, only I play them everyday. To me, they are the best. We always can cruise Rte.441, down into into Melbourne. Oh that voice... God rest Tommy's soul. Never saw it coming.

Great American Music, Tom had an exceptional voice very characteristic. The guitars are so clear on the notes and the music is so rhythmical. I'm from Mexico and this is a part of the USA music that I love.

I never got to see Tom Petty. I listen to a lot of music and somehow it took me until 2014 to discover Tom Petty. So I'm like a teenager at the age of 70,000 years old it feels. But I am so looking forward to the Fillmore CD release in November. That is going to be a real lovely Christmas present to ourselves. Take care of yourself. We need you Gail in Central Florida Sunday, October 30 of 2022.

Being a musician myself, I've got a lot of respect for Tom Petty and his band. Some of his songs have the most underrated cord change's like no other band I've never heard before. He is definitely one of a kind & also one of my favorite rock bands. Thanks Tom !!!
