Hi Theresa! I got two of the PT duos, Talk to My Team and Still at the Club and they are fine as toppers with other shimmers, but not the second coming of Jesus. He needs to chill out and I also didn’t need to buy them, so that’s on me. I did get some $ off so not complaining a lot. Shopping is always a bit of a shared responsibility between the brand and the consumer. I love the HG palette for me, but haven’t bought one since the Ghost edit a while ago. I like having a light edit and a warmer one to switch between along with my HG singles. Love your humor as always. I still think about that roach named Jeff with the croissant 🥐 lol! 😂

I have both the Dragon and Evil Eye palettes from this year, and for me the secret is mixing whatever blush/ bronzer/ highlight with some combination of the 3 finishing powders to make it work for my fair cool toned skin. Think of Dragon and Evil Eye as one palette in two components, and try mixing shades on your brush to get the tones you want. I sometimes do my whole face including eye makeup just using these and nothing else.

I bought the urban decay moondust quad at Sephora and swatching it next to the PT duo, the UD ones looked more intense and had more of that “wet” look. I still like the duo, but it’s definitely more subtle

when I tried to apply the Patrick ta shadows with a brush, I got nothing. But using my finger with a glitter glue made them amazing. I was impressed bc most indie shadows with amazing formulas are colors and it’s hard to get very “bling” neutral shadows. In my opinion!

I really want the hourglass dragon packaging (i like it but more than that it’s the year of the dragon which is my zodiac and at the beginning of the year I told myself I’d get one makeup lunar new year thing which didn’t happen bc brands decided to abandon me … then this came out and I love). I’ve been debating whether to get the shades from the dragon or the evil eye. I was loving the nude blush color of the EE but hate the bright ones and after seeing your struggle with it, even though we are completely different skin tones and undertones, helped me be ok with choosing the less exciting but much more functional set of shades 😅

The PT shadows were definitely overhyped. I bought the darkest one and I love it cause it has impact. I used the lighter brownish shade on the lid and the darker one (which is more of a satin/shimmer than a sparkle) in the crease and it's a really nice smokey moment. But I wouldn't buy another one. I think the darkest one is the best option for impact. And I'm the same colouring as you and it's nice. I hope you can return your garbage items. :( And just to make you feel a bit better the PT shadows are $57 each in Canada lol.

I saw someone say the Patrick Ta eyeshadows were more in line with typical Asian beauty shimmers than the metallic BAM western shimmers, which I can see. But that's not remotely how it was marketed, and I think that's why people are pissed off about it. And regardless about the style of shimmer, it's WILDLY overpriced.

IMO the only mainstream higher end makeup consistently worth my money are ND, Danessa Myricks, Nars, ABH, Huda, and HG powder products. Actually, I have pulled way back from purchasing other brands for this reason. Why not just buy the formulas I know I love vs constantly trying new stuff? I almost bought the Patrick Ta ESP (the second one) at the Sephora sale and just couldn’t do it. We’ll see how long this lasts, lol! 😂
