Excellent demonstration and picking of the "Pick Proof" Segal. Most manufacturers - today anyway - say "pick resistant" - if they say anything at all! Having taught impressioning for nearly 60 years, it appears that the movable sleeve would in fact grab and bind the wider key pins first, then bind the thinner ones, making impressioning certainly possible. Particularly the bind and pull method, rather than the bind and wiggle.

Very interesting. Mr Segal had a product that would only be picked to pick it. Not as entry. Same with abloy classic. Also seen as something no one would pick

Its a pity that the court f the business of the former policeman over with that stupid decision. This lock was pickproof, every burglar would prefer to break something instead of manipulating this lock. Your level of presentation is 100% professional my friend :D

That was very interesting! The history, lock and picking were all excellently brought together in your video. I figured decoding was probably the way to go as the sleeve nicely keeps the pins in their positions. Immobilizing it makes sense too. Although it isn't pick proof, it sure beats most designs currently used in pick resistance. What a great video👍

Question... how rare is this lock? Sounds like it was only manufactured for a few years before the lawsuit. I have one where the bottom sleeve is its own piece as well, held in by two pins. Well, when I received it there was only one pin but regardless, this will be a fun one to try and get a feel for now that I have some idea of what I'm working with
