You are in the desert at just the right time. Not too hot, trail angels have recovered from the spring hiker bubble and the sunsets are killing it. WAWO for the win!

"Getting wealthier and wealthier meeting people". Love the attitude!!! Thank God for the trail angels who deliver water. What a surprise and joy that must have been to arrive at camp and discover ranger supplied jugs of water. Yes watch out for those poodle dog bushes I hear they are quite ferocious!

You are right about the water caches. You are still in the Mojave desert snd headed eventually to the Sonoran desert. After wrightwood you will come up on a reservoir with a pretty decent sized creek that this time of year should still have some water in it near the hot springs. But wrightwood will be an excellent place to zero. Smart to just bipass the fire closure. What a great cabin you got. You will enjoy the trails between wrightwood and big bear. But lots of elevation but a lot of beauty. Enjoy it snd thanks for posting

On your Monday hike you passed 40 miles west of me as the crow flies. Angeles National Forest and San Gabriel Mountains are where I do day hikes and conditioning hikes for summer backpacking trips in the Sierra. You're also trekking along the San Andreas Fault, but hopefully it won't add any drama to your trip!🙂

I very much enjoyed this video. I believe you met my sister in the Sisters area. I am sure she told you we lived across the street from Vazquez rocks. Long before it was a county Park. It was privately owned when we moved there. I myself have done the rocks to Soledad Cyn on foot and horse back. We also rode through the tunnel to get to friends house.

Nice people everywhere gives great hope to all of us outdoor lovers. The benefits of social media which I am only a spectator of can provide massive benefits! those of us who were doing PCT prior to this social media world had much less benefits and more challenges. I did the the Camino Del Rey 2 yrs. ago, it is only a day hike but I highly encourage all to visit if your in Andalucía. Santiago is a trek for the summer and fall.. Pura Vida.. Wood-Man. Pismo Beach. Your mileage continues to amaze..

I have been section hiking the PCT, still have to do this section and E that you just did, just to finish southern CA. It’s good to see water is still out there even when there aren’t as many hikers out there. What was the most water you had to carry for this and the last section? I’m planning to do them in March or early April, not sure which direction yet, I hadn’t considered doing them at this time of year since I was worried about water. Thanks for sharing, just discovered your videos a few of them ago.

My wife is going from Couch to hiking the JMT next summer and we are training now. I am so proud of her. She says “why are all these backpacking videos with 20 year olds. I want some old people videos! “. And then your video showed up in my feed. Don’t blame me. Blame my phone which was probably listening to our conversation. Anyway you guys are great. Good luck with your trek!

You ladies are so inspiring. I've been watching your videos for a year or so now. I've always wanted to try hiking & backpacking & took just one 2 night trip up the Devil's Slide Trail in Idyllwild many, many years ago. But, I've never been around other ladies who were interested in going & I'd prefer to have a hiking buddy (or a few ;). I was thinking I'm too old now, but after watching you 3, I think if I managed to get myself conditioned, I just might still be able to do it one day. ;) I would really love a chance to meet you & am wondering when you'll be passing by S22 - Montezuma Valley Rd or Hwy 78 at Scissors Crossing. I am thinking of running out to the Anza Borrego campground in Borrego Springs next week (14th-18th ish (?). If you would be going through around that time & amenable to a quick meeting I'd be thrilled & if you would be available, I'd definitely go. If you needed a ride into Montezuma Valley Market in Ranchita or Borrego Springs from S22 or Julian from Hwy 78 for some pie & restocking, I'd be more than willing to run you there and back. I couldn't find any other way to try to reach you, so hoping you see this comment in time & can reply to let me know. Thanks! Sherrill
