That looks great. I have an empty Xmen cab that an operator had glued laminate to the sides and had some bottom damage. I repaired it all, new laminate sides and it's been sitting there empty for about 6 years now waiting to become a 4 player mame. Definitely going to have to try one of these out. I also have a few cabinets missing monitors so I might have to try these out.

This is pretty slick. This definitely gives me a great idea for an old computer I have sitting around that’s my current Mame 266 machine. I could just build a cabinet from scratch and finally have my own arcade machine in my house. 🤔

It would be great if they could do an OLED panel like this, and if they found a way to build scanlines into the screen.

I plan to use a Makvision for my MAME cabinet but it’s good to see how easy this is just in case the Makvision dies or doesn’t work out. I’m interested to see the gameplay videos. I’m pretty sad about MK+ I really wanted to play that one. The upgrades look great.

Unless it’s a 27” Mak, they look odd installed, especially being a recessed flat screen. If there was a custom flat screen bezel available, it would look much better.

@@MikesArcadeMonitorRepairthat was a concern I had for sure. I haven’t dropped it in yet. The mounting holes don’t line up so I’ll have to drill some new ones.

Remove the tube and chassis from the frame and it will help immensely with putting the frame into the cabinet to determine where the holes would need to be drilled. Will save you time and effort when measuring and aligning the frame.

It makes sense for a mame system. But I am a huge fan of keeping stuff original with CRTs. Much Love.

5:02 - my Unico has a black frame around it and not a silver frame, so I didn't have to use a black marker on the frame. Maybe I got an updated revision. Just an FYI for those thinking of buying one.

this is the updated one, mine has the black frame around it, as well

@JeffYPbPr Wait so the "updated" one does not have the black frame? Bummer

@@itchyisvegeta no. Since the initial release that rexer had they released an updated run that has a black frame. Supposedly there is a new run with the black frame AND the new updated lvds board that fixes the prior video issues with cga

@@JeffYPbPr OK that makes sense. Yeah I'm looking forward to ordering and trying out the new board. Currently using one of those $13 CGA to VGA Adapters to get around the contrast issues on my Neo Geo, which honestly works great. Despite the criticisms, the monitor is definitely the best option for a flat screen in an arcade in my opinion. Although CRT is still the best for those who don't mind them.

Also, loved how you had to finish “shave and a hair cut” when selecting Mk2+ 😅
