What a great interview. Your style is completely free of judgement and this young lady was a pleasure to listen to and I'm sure she is a nice person. All homeless people with substance abuse issues were once an innocent child. For many reasons addiction can effect anybody. Like she says, the only way to change things would be a legal prescription to reduce harm all around and take power away from the cartels and organised crime.

I am also in accordance with you on that point. But what came first, the chicken or the egg ( mental health then drugs or drugs then mental health) 🤷‍♀️ They weren't born this way, a gun was not held to their head, they made a conscious decision. Such a waste. I truly believe that the drugs are not making them this way, the drugs are only enhanceing an already existing problem and disfunction within the person.

No that's not true I was homeless for 4 months from febuary to may this year I got kicked out of student housing for medical Marijuana paraphanelia even though I have a medical Cannabis card it didn't save me from eviction for me it was my personal circumstances my health issues that lead to me using Marijuana and ultimately getting evicted I now have an apartment and live with a rommate but I have to split the rent because I'm poor and can only afford 585 a month that's also how much my rommate pays a month it took allot of pulling strings just to get the apartment that I am in now there's a serious issue with affordable housing

She is intelligent it's just that she has an addictive personality. If you have that type of personality, do not dare try one of those drugs because if it felt really good, then you're fucked, you're going to be hooked immediately. It's better to put that superpower in other things like being workaholic just to dump that extra energy. If you learn to control it and put it to your advantage, then you'll most likely be one of those successful people.

It's too sad, intelligent people like her get depressed, easily bored and wind up on skid row. They become addicts and get stupid. Intervention is a must on our society.

This is going to sound harsh, but idk, these people are really selfish and self-centered and are not even trying to get straight. I was a head back in the 70's, nothing like this stuff thank god, but weed and such. Was even homeless for 6 months, the freedom was incredible! But at the end of the day, I was always looking to better myself, no excuses, work, play, and enjoy life. These people are already checked out and are not even trying to get better or making a life, which is a shame, life has so much to offer and experience.

Interesting that she self medicated with hydro codeine at 14yo with lots family issues. That changes a child’s DNA..even smoking a cigarette at young age while going through psychological problems or family problems can make giving up just cigarettes extremely hard. They are the people that are toughest to break any habit. I grew up in a beautiful good country & moved here in 2019…people here are miserable & have so many problems especially caused from money, no free healthcare, fighting for everything you have even basic rights at work. That’s the root of problems here lack of healthcare no money to pay co payments, people needing months or years of therapy but can’t afford. Dysfunctional families, dysfunctional towns, government both state & federal, systemic racism, systemic poverty etc etc. She made good points on decriminalizing drugs & integrating back into society & work. The war on drugs is the biggest failure in human history

They changed the laws in 2016 you can’t get pain medication. Everyone I mean everyone even 90yo is drug tested, pill counts, monthly visits. She wouldn’t get help because of her addiction. The anti opiate propaganda is so bad & doctors so scared to prescribe that even cancer patients can’t get medication, people are euthanizing themselves, moving to Mexico Ecuador Spain anywhere to get qualify of life. There is no post op pain relief more than 2 days worth of pain tablets. I need multiple surgeries & can barely walk but have to save & get operations in Mexico where I will get post op care. The people that abused pain medication in past have ruined it for chronic pain patients & the DEA & CDC are playing doctor & destroying lives. Fun fact Suboxone & Experal funded & lobbied the government for the anti opiate guidelines back in 2016 to this day. Another messed up fact is in 2016 there were 15,000 prescription opiate deaths in USA, now with no prescription drugs on street only fentanyl & tranq last year 130,000 people died. Back in 2016 CDC said 30,000 fealty & later had to retract the figure & said heroin addicts were mixed in with prescription opiate deaths so only 15,000. It’s the biggest lie to the American people this “opiate crisis”. The real epidemic coincided with the anti opiate laws - illicit cartel & Chinese fentanyl & now animal tranquilizer xylazine. Almost every city in America you can’t even buy real heroin anymore it’s not profitable compared to fentanyl

The real H is harder to get because the Taliban has made it illegal to grow poppy fields in Afghanistan… so in comes the fent that’s made in a cave in Mexico… now the tranq which is causing so much damage!!!!

Thanks. I would disagree with you about a few things such as coming off as nervous and robotic (it's just my voice, it's how I sound) and being ignorant. I agree I could've asked better questions, however considering the extemporaneous conditions, it was hard for me to discover more on the spot because of lack of preparation.
