A similar thing happened to me at 14 yrs old. I got one picture of a 12 point typical that scored 155, which is ginormous for northwestern Pennsylvania. The one evening I had to decide between two sides of a field to hunt on, the wind was suitable for either one. I chose the south side and right before dark the buck came out and walked along the north side of the field, about 15 yds from my alternative setup. I still think about it to this day, someone later shot it in rifle season and that’s how I know how much it scored.

A buck during the rut will travels miles looking for doe' s. At least you have some great genetics. My cousin is hunting a 40 acre plot behind his house. The owners live in Nashville, Indiana. They have an agreement, to keep trespassers off their land. He's the only one allowed to hunt. He's gotten 3 trophy bucks off that place. The last buck he killed was a 17 pointer.

@@creekkings I have 25-30 different bucks on my farm who show up every year during the rut. Some only show up once or twice and I never see them again. It’s possible that he came from a distance and disappeared again. Although I’ve learned that mature bucks don’t rut as hard or travel very far to breed outside of their core area. Exceptions exist, as every buck is his own man.

I have seen 2 that big 2 times in Sept this year 2023 in a neighborhood here in the south. They are unreal massive body and bone. Ginormous beams and tines I guarantee you are 15 in tall on the g2 3 and 4 with 8 inch brow tines . They are almost complete replicas of each other. 1 of them I beleive has more junk on the base and a kicker off the g2 on the right side . I seen them only 2 times in velvet Sept 5 and 7th and never have seen them again . I beleive I know where they have went but nobody is allowed to hunt on this person's land. He and his wife feed and cherish these deer year round and I mean with the good stuff. High protein literally tons of corn apples pear and persimmons fill the front yard all trees as big as my waist or leg. But I've never ever seen these 2 deer before on there property ever and I've seen quite a few 150 160 class bucks there every year since I've lived here for 30 years. These 2 typhoon these other bucks in size and bone. 1 is a 13 or typical and the other is a 14 I beleive. I'm def certain on the 13 . Both are main framed with like I said GIANT TINES AND BEAMS. ILL BET THE BASES ARE AS BIG AS MY WRISTS AND IM NO LITTLE MAN . 6 ft 1 280lbs. I know you prob think I'm full of it but I just pray I can get a pic as both times I seen them I was in a shop working and totally off guard. The very first time I saw him I thought I was seeing things I literally couldn't believe my own eyes and thought that my eyes were playing tricks on me move anyway I'm through talking about it now but trust me this is the truth there ain't no lying this this is too gigantic enormous animals

I would say Goliath is around that 225-230" gross non-typical score. He's a FIVE by six mainframe so there's going to be some deductions. However the fact that he lived long enough to be that & grow that body is a miracle itself. I wouldn't sweat the small stuff u have no control over. Deer like that get old & weak & find a spot to expire where nothing living ever finds them but the insects. The hope is in a few years when u r in your prime a son out of one of his daughters shows up & u get that deer. Great story & never stop chasing deer.

Cool story! I've seen some giants myself in my 35yrs of deer hunting. Some absolute monster's! I was lucky enough to find some sheds off of them and have trail cam pics with date and times to prove they existed. I have one set that scores right at 205 and another set that scores close to 190. So definitely fortunate enough to have they're sheds at least. But yes having encounters with bucks of mega status will definitely get your heart pumping. I just hope someone wasn't playing games with you bro. Cause it's seems they were taunting you on purpose. They either wanted to make u think that buck lived there. Or he did live there and he got poached before you had a clue he was even there. Why didn't you hide a camera facing the trespassers camera to see who it was???? Instead of leaving a note. Then you could have taken pictures an passed them on to the DNR or sheriff. Honestly in my opinion.. Something just isn't adding up with this story. Especially not having any sheds off this deer or anyone finding him dead from ehd or anyone harvesting the buck. A buck of that caliper would definitely be hard to hide. Gotta be some kinda history of that buck living there besides trail cam pics. I don't even see any date or times on the pics??? 🤔 No sheds...nothing!!!

I was 16, I would've handled it differently for sure. I had some guys email us saying they shot the deer and told me right where it was (close by)so it was harvested to my knowledge. I think they poached it by the sounds of it.
