Thanks for a precious lesson again. Yes, those 3 expressions are mostly interch'angeable, but mind you, a few exceptions (of which I was unaware until pointed out here!). Here's a thing. 6'48" she was hot ... where I wish Masa sensei to comment on. What if it's said "she felt so hot .." or "it was so hot that she .."? Is'it colloquially common or acceptable to say "she's hot .."? Doesn't it mean anything else? Take care, as the scorching summer's just around the corner! PS. A little petition. Could you kindly consider examples s or phrases using "walk through", ".. had to say" & "fancy"? Those drew attention. Walk through, often heard in news, looks pretty simple, just walk & through, but its meaning is different from what we Japanese (or non-native speaker of English) might imagine. The next also from the same source. "Take a listen what he HAD to say", instead of what he said. What's the difference in nuance? The last one, as simple as it looks, but actually many may be not sure what it means. Thanks for your extra attention!

@@MasaSensei you're so good at symbol-emoji, on top of English - Japanese lessons. Unfortunately, your pupil, too old, doesn't understand what it exactly means. Squinting, distancing etc., unable to catch a hint. Asking around my younger friends, but in vain, saying "saw it for the first time!" I need an extra class called hoshu-jugyo!

先週には、僕のじいさんを死ぬのに、悲しくたまらなかった。 →先週には、僕のじいさんを死んで、悲しくたまらなかった。 「のに」の後は反対のことを表すときに使いますよ!

@@xanderoliver5041 「死んだら」は if ...dies の意味です。未来形しか使えませんから「先週には、僕のじいさんを死ぬのに、悲しくたまらない」はOKです!

Hairsplitting: "senshu", Boku no "ojiisan" "ga" shinde ..... Maybe "sofu" instead of ojiisan (-chan) can be used, bits a tinge of formal style.
