It's like an end of an era seeing this finally release, as well as the previous Deinosuchus and King Trident. The Deinosuchus and Sarcosuchus have been in the works since like 2017 I think, and of course got completely redesigned in the end, and for the better. A shame it's not really in scale with the other Elrhaz formation fauna figures out there, but it's still a very nice figure on its own. I do like that it came with a prey item, the baby Nigersaurus (like the prior Deinosuchus), as one of my favorite things Rebor has done in the past is little assortments of related fauna in a similar scale, but also all meant to be displayed in a diorama like fashion, like the Arcocanthosaurus, Tenontosaurus corpse, and Deinonychus trio from their earlier years. I think it would be really cool if Rebor could do another base pack for these two pseudosuchians in particular, like they did with their other one that worked with Tusk/Kiss, etc. Would be really nice if they could pull of the water look they did before with the Ceratosaurus long ago, that's one of my favorite bases from them still due to its versatility.

You certainly know more about Rebor and its product history than I do! I didn't know how long these two crocodilians were in production for. I started with Rebor only recently, beginning with their Stegosaurus and then some of their other more scientifically accurate ones. There are still some faults especially with the Deinosuchus, and I hope that Rebor for all its paint and sculpting strengths, is willing to continue to improve. They also offer really unusual products, and I own the Extinction library. Their handling of teeth is better than most other mass produced models I've seen. I am hoping for more from them that's for surE!

This color pattern matches this Sarcosuchus if it were living in a muddy river. Because the camouflage would be perfect for that kind of environment. But I'd prefer a more pinkish throat area, like in Deinosuchus. Rebor has the best teeth in the business, hands down. No other company comes close when it comes to Rebor teeth. Since Rebor teased about Purussaurus in one of their posts, I'm sure they will release a Purussaurus soon. And it deserves a figure because we don't have a toy or figure for Purussaurus (the second big croc). I'm so excited to see Rebors Purussaurus now. But with a more different pose. Let's see. Even though I do not have these amazing figures, I hope to get them someday. But until then, I'll enjoy your amazing review videos, my dear sir. Thank you so much.🖤

Thank you for your comment! It would really be quite a collection if we have that mega croc triumvirate. I thought the original plan was to have the name "Metalica" in three parts to represent each of these. When they changed to Meta for Deinosuchus and Lica for Sarcosuchus, I'd assumed they changed their minds. We'll just have to wait and see!

Mm...

I notice that the rostral mandible is warped on many copies of this figure. Can it be reshaped back into the correct position with heat treatment? (e.g. blowdrier)
@DinosDragons

Yes it can, but I believe it also depends on the level of 'set' because some models I've had eventually want to go back to their default configuation, even if it is a warped one.

Awesome and very phenomenal and detailed review! Also regarding false gharials, they are actually true gharials! Based on genetic and molecular data, and but morphologically look more like a crocodile. A more fitting common name for the species which it is named less frequent is the Malayan gharial, or Sunda gharial, and tomistoma its genus name is also used as a common name. Also the species jaws grow broader as an adult and is able to eat monkeys, deer, and even taken on cattle! Very unique and cool species, and can grow to 6m on rare occasions. Also hope rebor makes terrestrial Cenozoic crocodiles like quinkana and boverisuchus, I have heard they plan to make a barinasuchus figure the largest known Cenozoic carnivore yet known. Also hope the beast of the Cenozoic, from creative beast studios, and pnso does as well, and purussaurus to. Even other species as well.

I think I will buy the darker Sarcosuchus and hope the will completey the Trio with Purussaurus next year. I think it´s an interresting theme why Purussaurus millions of years after these two guys got probably still the the same dimensions... while other animal groups allready got and stay smaller. (The enviromental conditions (food) and climate are the reasons that´s clear... )

I haven't made good researches for the Deino size, but the old estimation that might be outdated was indeed 15 meters Now the biggest ones are 13 meters. But we do know crocodiles never stop to grow during their life, and there always are bigger specimen, so a 15 meter Deino is not out of the possibilities, at least I try to convince myself ^^ Otherwise Rebor Deino would be 1:30 based on the 13 meter upper estimations. I tried to look for other smaller Deino figure, but they were all too expansive for what they were, never matching the quality of Rebor's, so I'm keeping this one.
