Having the sun shining through your balcony increases the rent value. I would imagine if it was on a lower floor or the apartment is facing the opposite side of the sun cost less. How is the wall insulation holding up since it is now colder.

I saw an American micro apartment in Portland Oregon where the kitchen took up more than half of the apartment and made it look smaller. So yeah smaller kitchen space is More reasonable for a micro apartment as you spend less time in it than the living space 😊

it doesn't look half bad, but from the looks of it, i don't suppose it's got great heat insulation, meaning it's gotta be quite hot in summer, and really tough to keep warm in winter, even with everything closed?

Monthly most likely, there is no apartment where the rent is weekly, if there is I've never heard of it or it could be just an Airbnb

Monthly. Leases are usually for 2 years, makes no sense to pay rent weekly.
