We are empty nesters that bought into the activities for kiddos, sports, church activities, band, our "community groups" for church weekly. Life was a whirlwind, wish we would have chosen to opt out of alot of those, the kids we raised are now on the treadmill and we arent important enough in their busy lives. We are now seeing the fruit of all our labor and its heartbreaking to us.

Big hugs- that is so hard. And what I think the majority are seeing... can you imagine just how broken the family unit will be in 10 years? 20? More? I think we can all try to do better!

I’m so sorry😢 but I do thank you for sharing. Lately I’ve felt the pressure to seek for things to get my kids involved more outside activities because I always feel like they are “missing out”. But reading this makes me know that I’m doing things the right way and shouldn’t start throwing extra activities into my family’s life just cuz that’s how everyone else is doing it.

I’m in the same spot. Heartbreaking is the perfect definition. I wish I had been taught the depth of scripture and discernment when I was a teenager to prepare me for adulthood, parenting and a member of the true church body. I feel like such a failure in the progress of the kingdom. 😢

Being a very ill person (diabetes, neuropathy damage, stage 4 liver failure, thrombocytopenia, Parkinson's, hepatic encephalopathy, recurring pancreatitis, lymphedema, colitis, gastroenteritis, gastroparesis. I do everything in chunks and I multi-task: Every morning, I get up and walk 7-8 miles and that entire time I pray, come home, shower, get dressed, makeup, hair and take my medication, then it's Bible study and reading the Bible while listening to the Heavenly Minded music, then I dinner prep and clean up as I go, laundry, dust, some type of housework while listening to podcasts. Then I do my lymphedema wrap therapy which takes 1 hour, so while I sit in a recliner while my wraps circulate my leg, I take a hour nap. Some days are different, I have specialist(s) I have to see in the city, a hour away. I have Parkinson therapy 3 times per week that I add in my schedule. I have Bible study once a week. I volunteer for the youth group and Sunday School class, sometimes I get ill, hospitalized, worn down have to slow down for a day or so. I have other events: grocery shopping, nails, meeting a friend for lunch, take the dogs to spa/groom day, that I fit in during the day/week. What gets me through my health issue, knowing God is in control and knowing my job is to be as healthy as I can be, eating right, exercise, therapy, medication, Dr. appointments, so I can serve God the best I can. I wish everyone many blessings and good days, we all have ups and downs, but remember, God is in control, let Him do His work in your life! Amen!

I’m glad you touched on the busyness of life in the “of the world”. I made it a priority not to pack my daughter’s life with activities. I never understood why parents packed their kids time with all the activities.

❤ Agreed. My niece and nephew have that lifestyle pushed on them- they are in a public school and they have clubs and sports and camps since I can remember and they are just entering their teen years. Their mom complains she doesn't know them, they don't talk with her, they are stressed out trying to force family time together around the holidays. (And most holidays the kids are so used to being "busy" with seperate things, not very social...they are staring at their tech devices). It made My husband and I not want to really bother to go over there for holidays or in general. It just felt like everything was so scattered our own children were expected to just go in a corner and do something by themselves... It felt disrespectful and disappointing. The whole point was for us all hang out as a family in our minds; But my sister-in-law and her husband mostly just wanted to vent about adult stuff and drink. That's ok sometimes but GEEZ- at the expense of the kids? And I think they don't even do that for each other much because she chose a career just to "prove" something to herself...not to help her family or to survive etc...her kids really need her present at home. They have a history of issues and it's just sad. 😢 So I think it goes for adults as well as children. And when the parents aren't prioritizing the way they should ideally be doing so - It rolls to the kids. I am busy most of my week. I never get bored. My non verbal child and I know one another better than most kids we know know their parents and that makes me very sad for those other kids and parents. I always want to know more as they grow- and to be their guide and support. Anyway sorry for the rant. Lol 🤣 Thanks for reading ❤

I love the chatty coffee dates on Saturday and am so happy to see you and Sabrina together two weeks in a row! When it comes to books in the Bible, Song of Solomon always makes me think wow, I can't believe this is in the Bible! I have heard a Messianic Jewish man preach and say that Jewish men aren't allowed to read Song of Solomon until they are 30, which is crazy to me, but at the same time I get it.

You got my subscription when you talked about being at home in the evening with your kids and not being busy running around with activities. This is exactly my thoughts as well! Simplify and enjoy time as a family! And fasting… we’ve been through some difficult church situations and fasting recently had been used as a tool for a building project. I’m done. Thanks for the encouragement to follow the Lord even when the “Christian” world is doing other things.

28:44 I think similar to how you think. I’m a tinkerer, too. I don’t waste much time watching or reading things that won’t help my journey (including my family). I rarely sit still, lol. But I do still prioritize self-care through my planning system. I have a husband, four kids, and a full time job. I have to pour my energy into my family and pour into my job as well. I’ve been learning how to put out my best planning tips and ideas into my videos, too. I don’t kill myself over it either. I’m trying to help others, but my family comes first. Wonderful Q & A. I’m glad that I found your channel.

Love your thoughts on not having evening activities. I have one evening of Bible study with a few friends (it’s life giving and I love it) but we started karate another night (just Tuesdays) and then my husband hunts 3-4x a week, and WOW our week feels busy. I don’t know how people do so many activities - it really effects every aspect and I’m reconsidering karate 😅

I feel you! I worked extremely hard in not allowing society dictate my children's raising. I didn't allow my child to go to work until he'd finished school...he also did not get a driver's license and car at sixteen. It wasn't easy. I don't think sixteen is too late, it's never too late to make life changes....it just takes time and small changes that add up in time ..pray and behave the way you know you should...you are a role model at this time in your child's life....your child will see. Prayers and hugs!

I don’ either like to be busy on evenings. I am committed to two evening events a week at the church - I told myself no more than that .It is not necessary to be buys and attend to every church activity. It is just like with food . You don’t have to eat so much but you have to eat what gives your body the right nutritions to produce the energy. Busy verses fruitful. We can’t allow to let people to make us feel bad because we are missing church activities. Because that’s not what this is about. I personally am much more benefit in my quiet time with the Lord so I actually can give more and recognize what is important and what is waist of time and energy.❤

Ive got a couple questions... I'm editing this because my first question is not coming across the way I want it to. Im going to pray for more Grace on the subject and hit you up again when i can make the words come out right.❤ And my last question; so in Heaven, Randy references a book he wrote about God's rewards. Did you read that one? I find it intriguing but also like it could be a trap. I know we're supposed to do good just to do it and not to seek rewards. Which we've always been that way even prior to walking with Jesus. We just have always loved to help those around us anyway we can. But I worry if reading that book would cause us to change behavior based on the rewards... i know how simple our humans brains are; easy to manipulate for the wrong reasons. Have you read that one? I forget the title. How did it affect your actions? I almost feel it's better to remain blind to the rewards. 🤔 Thanks for ant help. Thanks for your daily videos. You are helping me blaze my trail back to Jesus. I start my morning getting ready while your videos play. ❤ Then, onto homeschooling and homemaking. Thank you so much for all your family does.

I think if the storing rewards in Heaven becomes something bad that's showing a heart issue that needs to be addressed. The heart of the matter remains pure- it's ok to know we work to store up Heavenly treasure... but if it's causing you to seek something impure-- then you must address that as it is a heart issue within you. :) XO
@melissaculpepper7663 Жыл бұрын
Our motive to do good works should be to obey and please the Father. When we have that heart attitude, it is pleasing to the Lord. I agree that if we do good to get rewards, isn’t that making it all about ourselves? We are to be humble servants just like Jesus taught His disciples. It’s so hard to resist gratifying our flesh, but this is the heart of God.

It seems to me, Heidi, you are creating your own religion with blending Jewish traditions into following Jesus. The Jewish traditions were because they were a foreshadowing of what we NOW have in Christ Jesus. Jesus, alone, can satisfy. He nowhere instructed the Gentiles who became His followers to practice/observe the Jewish ways .We have what they hoped for. We don’t need nor should we confuse others, by trying to have “Jewishness”. Jesus died to give us all freedom and freedom of choice. Yes, you can adopt and embrace doing all of these Jewish practices, sure. It is confusing as to why you want to do these things. Perhaps your soul is yearning for fellowship; the fellowship you e lost by not participating in Christmas, birthday celebrations, national holidays, etc. God gave us the Body of Christ for His purpose and for us to have a family. Joy!!! Celebration!!! You are simply transferring this need and desire to the “Jewish” ways. We ought to be making the Jewish people and the lost , thirsty and hungry for Him!!! I do not condemn what you are doing, just offering “food for thought”. You feel pretty strongly about followers of Jesus celebrating Christmas or any of our “American” holidays. Not very one who love Christmas and participates in in is IDOLIZING it. I can go without ever doing any traditional things surrounding Christmas. Not everyone goes into debt to celebrate Christmas or thinks it’s about “a baby in a manger”. The Light of the world came into darkness as our Savior and King!!! Hallelujah!!! Christmas, literally, lights the world up in all the glory of Christ Jesus!!! That’s why it’s the most popular Holiday in the world!!! Non-believers and many Jewish friends I know, love Christmas. Why? Because the Holy Spirit is touching their hearts! Satan would love to whisper to followers of Jesus: “Don’t celebrate it. It’s not in the Bible; You’re practicing paganism, etc.” No! God can use ALL THINGS to work for our good according to His good purpose for those whom He loves. I’ve been where you are. I came “full circle” because the Holy Spirit spoke to my heart to shine His light. I didn’t traditionally celebrate Christmas, either, for years! Oh, how glad I am the Lord returned my enjoyment! I totally understand it is an IDOL for you and you had to examine your heart. Great. Pointing people backwards to the mere shadow of what is here, now, Jesus Christ, is confusing. Bless you in your quest to know Jesus more🙏🏻✨🙏🏻
