27-02-23 - Glaramara - Allen Crags

Never done either before so an interesting watch for me and looked a very good route too. I parked at the farm when I first climbed Great Gable it and was a £5 honesty box as I remember, which I did pay as I thought it was fair to keep my car safe. Sketchy climb to the top but superb views from the summit itself but not many on Allen Crags. Nice walk back from the two tarns, cheers Alan

Hiya, Alan! Thanks for watching again. Seathwaite really is the starting point of some of the best walks in the Lakes. Glaramara is a tough ascent, but it's worth it, and I got lucky as the views were superb from the summit. I need to do a lot more walking in this area. Cheers and take care.

I’ve ascended the Hind Gill path twice now. It’s a bit of a bash up to the first wall but an excellent way to get up to the ridge. No idea why more people don’t use the path, possible as it doesn’t appear anywhere in Wainwright’s book four. The view that opens up as you reach Glaramara it amazing. Great video Mal. 👍

Thanks so much for watching, Adrian. I've ascended and descended this route, once you get through the gate it is indeed a great way up to Glaramara. It's usually a very quiet summit as well, but I can't think why. Cheers and take care.

Hi. I use OS maps to plot the route, you'll then need to find a screen recording app that will allow you to save it as an mpg4, you can then edit it in your video editing software. Thanks for watching, glad you like the content. osmaps.com/
