I'm a 28 year old gay man in Ohio and I've never been kissed either. I've only been on one date when I was 26. The last time I did anything sexual was when I was about 16 (we just kinda skipped kissing). I've actually gotten to the point where I just don't think I can even let someone into my life anymore. I'm so used to being alone that the thought of adding another person into the mix sounds so strange and scary. At the same time I want to date and I have tried various things such as online dating, going out to bars/clubs, joining LGBT organizations, and going to coffee shops that tend to have a larger gay clientele. I was 20 when I had my first kiss. It was honestly really great, it was with someone I was really into who was also into me. But thinking back on it, I remember the people around me considering me to be an "odd duck" because everyone else had been dating/experimenting for several years before that, and through all of that and people questioning me about it, I did feel like I was weird and sticking out because that hadn't happened to me yet. So I'm sorry if that is how you felt/are still feeling, because I was really uncomfortable with the idea of forcing it, but also then uncomfortable with what other people were saying about me. Also like the dating pool at fucking high school isn't that great tbh I thought all the guys were tools and I was still in the bisexual closet so yeah. Basically fuck em if anyone is giving you grief about it like I was given, though maybe people reaching their thirties are gonna be more mature (here's to hoping). I think things just happen at different times to people. Some fuckers meet their future partners when they're like 12 or whatever. I'm 29, and not counting a few small flings, I haven't ever properly dated anyone. It just hasn't happened. So fuck those people too, who just fall into it early on, basically lol. Also like, depending on what you're into, not having a first kiss isn't such a big deal, since every time you kiss a person you've never kissed before, it's a first kiss with them. So like, with me, I'm not really pressured on not having kissed loads of people, because I'm not into one-time things or casual sex/making out or whatever. Also I've realized that I'm someone that isn't into kissing someone if there aren't feelings involved. Like I kissed this one guy at a club, and it was uncomfortable af for me, because we had just met like 3 hours before, so I was like no thanks, see you never. I'm not into a kiss at a first date either. So people have different preferences and boundaries. This has gone into a fucking weird introspection (I'm sure I didn't write that word correctly but ya know fuck em I speak 3 languages you cants) at 3.30am when I really should be sleeping because I'm nearing that moment of sleep-deprived where I'm getting a bit sweaty and nauseous. Katie girl, I hope you've had a kiss or two, just the way you feel comfortable having a kiss or two. I'm going to bed so I don't barf from exhaustion.
