For me it was not the dribbles, it was not the assists, it was not even the goals.. The one thing that made me fall in love with Messi was the numerous times he tried to continue attacking when being fouled, instead of immidiately stopping. I watched him many times trying to push forward while his shirt was being pulled by someone. He kept trying to continue attacking until either he managed to shake off the defender even though he was being fouled, or he could just not go on because they were literaly grabbing his whole body in order to stop him. That relentless attacking spirit, that passion of him to keep the attack alive instead of relying always on receiving the foul, that is an attribute of Messi that has won the hearts of so many football fans around the world and mine as well.!

Messi by a long shot is the best. I totally agree with you that Messi that gives you a unknown feeling. He's just a magician. A freak of nature. And it's in every department: goals, free kicks, passes (I'm still thinking about the threaded pass against The Netherlands in the 2022 world cup), movement, the solo goals, the way he springs to life, assists...he's the best.

Hey, Ronaldo fan here! I don’t disagree with most of what you’ve said, except for one thing-where you mention, “Messi by a long shot is the best”. I get where you’re coming from but using phrases like “a long shot” can intensify the tension between the two fan bases. It would be great if you could avoid such wording. After all, if it were truly a long shot, there wouldn’t be so many debates and comparison videos out there.

You agree that hazard and neymar are ahead of Ronaldo in terms of pure talent🤡🤡? This is a huge case of recency bias, just because Ronaldo transformed into a number 9 in his last years doesn’t mean that he isn’t a “pure footballer”. If you watched Ronaldo from 2006-2014 you would see a player who could dribble while be 6ft + , his passing was amazing , he could cross with both feet, he could shoot from distance , he could finish with both feet , could head the ball and had physicality. For me the most complete footballer. Messi is the only player to outperform Ronaldo and I can admit messi had a better career towards the end.

Moreover he was a good dribbler but wasn't even closely as effective and good in driblling as Neymar or Hazard The only place in which he was better is goalscoring and thats it.
