You forgot about the acronym BARDWELL, as in "I'm about to BARDWELL". Batteries Are Really Drained When Elevation Loss Looms Basically it means your battery hit 3v/cell and your quad is about to fall out the sky. I may have just made this up right now... :D

I wish rotor riot made some vids of advanced topics (like how to train for drone racing (tips and tricks), setting up the track tips and tricks etc.), but still, rotor riot makes great vids and this isn't an exception

Yes, advanced topics are most welcome. We all started out knowing almost nothing, learnt enough to get by, but there will always be topics/tricks that us average pilots will see as advanced, and something to learn/achieve.

Rotor Riot isn't really a racing-focused channel. It's always had its heart in freestyle. I would 100% skip racing-focused videos if they started putting them out. There have been freestyle tutorial videos in the past, and I think some of them could be updated, but for the most part they hold up well. As far as advanced videos for building, tuning, etc.... well, that's why we have Bardwell. ;)

A video where Alex goes through his ideas for a fun race course and then the some non-racers like Drew, Cricket and Bardwell race it, with their freestyle rigs. I'm a firm believer in multi-disciplinary training and that you don't need a super light hardcore race monster to dabble in racing.

Forgot probably the most important one for beginners, JB - Joshua Bardwell. For instance; “Was talking to JB and he suggested to reflow the solder joints.” Or, “you should check out JB’s channel, lots of good info there.” Or the other Acronym RR - Rotor Riot, for instance “did you see the new RR video, they forgot some acronyms” or, “look at those new RR pilots”

TBS? 😉 In Beta 4.2 there is no option to change gyro from 8k 😉 CLI = command line. There might be a chance we can still change it. Thanks for sharing! Cheers!

So I’m new to this, why do you use lower KV motors with higher series batteries? It seems backwards to me lol can some explain.

The speed of a motor is governed by voltage. Kv is the revolutions per minute per volt. 4S voltage in a 1700Kv motor (designed for 6S voltage) will make it spin slower than required, so the Kv needs to be increased for the lower voltage going into it, which is typically 2400Kv for 4S.

Omg, the s in 4s and 6s stands for series! That's clever I always thought it was due to someone not knowing how to spell cells (and that c is already used to represent the discharge rate) Genius I actually learnt something

The other letter you may sometimes see in descriptions of battery packs is P, for Parallel. So 4S2P means 4 sets of 2 cells in parallel. Putting identical cells in parallel is done for increased amperage output and/or increased capacity, notably when fixed sized cells are used such as 18650 lithium ions. Eg, my ebike battery has 18650 cells in a 7S4P setup, for the high voltage and the high amperage output.

C rating acronym is an important one, choose a battery pack with a too low C number and it won't be as enjoyable as flights with high C battery pack.

licensetodrive the “C” rating is a approximate measurement of the maximum charge(Q) in a burst. It essentially defines how the current changes with time when shorted. The unit for charge is the coulomb (C). Therefore is a unit not a acronym.

Ok so 5:53 starts the discussion around all the RX/TX discussions whether its radio or video. What connects to what. As a noob a few years back I’d be quickly checking YT videos for stuff I knew of and then gone back to my build, then found something I didn’t know of and hit the YT again for info. Sbus is wrong. Sbus is the signal that goes into the fc. It is the signal that goes trough the cable between rx and fc. And not the protocol between the TX and Rx. On futaba it ist Fasst, on spectrum dsmx and on frsky accst.
