I graduated from High School in 1979. Here we are in 2023. I'm gonna tell this story again because it's so good. In January I was on a table getting radiation treatment for stage three lung cancer at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. They let you choose which soundtrack you wanted to listen to in the room. It was late at night, like 10 PM. It was the one time the big machine malfunctioned and I spent an extra hour on that table. At the end of the night this song came on. An old favorite I hadn't heard in decades. It was a little miracle. Just Another Night.

Think this song tells the story of Ian's arrest in Indianapolis in Mott the Hoople days. Nice, enigmatic lyrics.

His old man spent a fortune just to get him in But baby boy growed up just as stupid as him Ian's throwaway lines are better than most songwriters' pearls.
