My how things have changed... Walnut Ridge did not have any people of color back in 1973..... its a brand new day LOL. Go Bulldogs. Class of 73... :-)

@@kevzhouse2 I was class of 73 also, but at Ridge. Watched every game in the undefeated 71 State Champ season, which we likely don't accomplish without the controversial transfer of the great shooting guard Brad Hoffman from South to Ridge. I imagine you're one of the many from South still irked about that. But you prob also remember that the great East team of 69 had Dwight Lamar transfer in from North for his last season too, although under different circumstances than the Hoffman transfer. And not to rub it in, but I was at the Fairgrounds Coliseum in 72 when South with super Brian Williams at all, missed the front end of a one and one that would have sealed a district championship and the late great Tim Capehart got a long rebound, went coast to coast and made a miracle shot while headed out of bounds, over the backboard for the upset win. Needless to say, we grew up in the golden era of City League hoops with your guys, my guys, East and Linden ruling the roost. Great times. I wish your Bulldogs well in the upcoming tourney. As for your comment about kids of color at Ridge in the 70's, in my class of over 500, there were about 5 black students who were all friends with all of us. Never heard a derogatory comment. Yea, times have changed, but overall they're good kids there now, except for the few bad apples, but that's everywhere.
