Trouble is the lack of 1:8 twist factory rifles in .270. They suffer a fair bit with the the slow twist factory barrels. Significantly smaller rounds flog the 270 at range because of that fact unfortunately.
@HSTvids3573 жыл бұрын
The same happens with .25-06 imo. Most all of them are 1:10 in factory guns, so nobody has historically made a heavy for caliber bullet for them.
@jeremyst.george67113 жыл бұрын
Militarys next get guns are to be built in 6.8mm ie 27 cal. So in a few years there's going to be a lot of 27 cal barrels with all kinds of twist rates
@jeremyst.george67113 жыл бұрын
+ 6.8 western is a 1:7.5 twist 27 cal barrel. So they obviously do make fast twist 27cal barrels. If you can figure out where browning is getting them made

Hi Guys, and all the best to you both in 2021, 2022, 2023... :-) Well, that is BRUTAL wind for a 2 km shot, you'd just about have to have wind measurement every 200 m at the rate she's blowing!, so, 11 rounds, new rifle, terrible conditions, good on ya! That big Berger bullet looks like you can get the goods out of that big old .270 brass. You have big country, there, kind of like the Canadian Prairies, but looks drier. Because of it’s use in whitetail deer hunting in the southern US, where the open distances are a bit short, the .270 probably gets overlooked as a long range target cartridge. I certainly never thought of it as such. Most people I knew growing up thought 150 yards was a long shot.
