Doug Bradley was the catalyst that put Pinhead on the same level as Jason Voorhees or Freddy Krueger. Fun fact, Bradley appears in several Cradle of Filth songs as a narrator. Most notably, _Her Ghost In The Fog_ and the entirety of the album _Godspeed on the Devil’s Thunder_

The crazy thing I learned just a few years ago was that the Cenobites, and the Night Breed are from the same universe, and they hate each other. I would love to have seen a crossover movie with some kind of epic battle between the two.
@theoldghostwolf80819 ай бұрын
I haven't seen "Night Breed" in quite a tick, but they have the same author, so who knows? What would happen if one of The Breed found and solved the Lament Configuration? Imagine the dark possibilities? How could evil punish and torment someone evil? Cool observation Troy.
@troyh36289 ай бұрын
@@theoldghostwolf8081 Thank you, though it wasn't my observation, I think I read it in commentary somewhere that did come from Clive Barker himself. Also, I don't think the Night Breed were inherently evil, they just had to do things to survive that normal people would be disgusted by, such as Boon drinking the blood of the guys that Decker killed at the hotel, and killing and eating anyone who wandered into their home.
@theoldghostwolf80819 ай бұрын
Point taken. What's your view on the latest "Hellraiser" movie? The whole series has been trashed and maligned constantly. Granted that the six after "Bloodlines" didn't do much to heighten the quality, but I love them all. I work the Weekend Graveyard Shift at a hospital, and I'll start on Friday listening to the entire franchise. I enjoy the stories, and was impressed with the latest outing. It wasn't the greatest, but new life was given to my favorite villains. It needed more Cenobite action though. The producers need to make a film from the Cenobite POV and show what it's like being Pinhead in her/his realm of Hell. They left the door open for a sequel, and I hope that they pursue this path. I like how "The Box" changed shape. @@troyh3628

The new Hulu Hellraiser (reboot?) cenobites are on a different level visually. The unfettered body horror from head to toe (no black leather to leave any of it to the imagination) is some of the most gruesome I've seen to date in a film. And Voight's transformation to a cenobite scene at the very end was utterly horrendous and disturbing. I hope we get a sequel, with the same budget, writer, producer and director, because it's peak Hellraiser IMO.

For continuity regarding Pinhead, there are two theories. The first is that after God turned him human again, after he died, Leviathan turned him into Pinhead once more. The second is that there are two different Pinheads, where after the "main" Pinhead was killed in Hellraiser 4, the different actor for Pinhead in Hellraiser 10 was a new Pinhead Leviathan created to replace the original, which would explain why he looked different. We've seen like 6 different Chatterer Cenobites, so alternative Cenobites with new people is plausible.

What did event horizon borrow? I don’t see any similarities
@cocodojo8 ай бұрын
@@sportinlife1 there's a few concepts it borrowed, like the lament configuration and opening it is the way to open a portal to hell, whereas in Event Horizon it was the drive that was the puzzle box and activating it opened a portal to "someplace unknown". From there, there's some parallels dotted through the movie if you try to spot it.
@doublep19808 ай бұрын
Event Horizon is heavily influenced by the lore of Warhammer 40k, which -ripped off- borrowed itself a lot from Hellraiser. One of the writers has confirmed this. That's why Event Horizon is considered an ''unofficial Warhammer 40k prequel story''. If you're not familiar with Warhammer 40k lore: there's a parallel dimension called ''The Warp'', where the Chaos Gods reside. One of them is Slaanesh, the Chaos God/ess of debauchery/ excess/ hedonism etc. Slaanesh's followers engage in all kinds of extremely kinky sh*t and their look is heavily inspired by the Cenobites. In the Warhammer universe, FTL ( Faster Than Light)-travel in space is achieved by punching a whole into the Warp and fly through it, using it as a ''short cut'' for interstellar travel. Problem: all the nasty Warp entities (''Daemons'') that reside in the Warp are coming after you. Normally, they use a special energy shield ( ''Gellar Field'') to keep these things out, but technology in the Warhammer universe is old and tends to malfunction frequently. And then we get situations like in Event Horizon, which is ( unofficially) considered as the first flight through the Warp dimension.

Until the last movie, then it's like 5% lmfao I did like the last one, and it helped having a female pinhead be canon, I can't stand the Doug Bradley impersonators.. it's a Highlander scenario as far as he's concerned (there can be only one)

imagine a survivor game where it starts with you and the box...you cant do anything else at this start of the game but play with the box...there can be a million combos and most of them do 1 thing summoning cenobites...so you start fiddling with it...999,997 times out of 1 million youre taken to the labryinth and go through some cut scenes literally no pun intended and somehow manage to run out and are now lost inside the infinite maze...that is where the game truly begins and it goes from there... they can go into a lot of lore and scenery...it could be canon and good...those other 3 times that it won't summon the cenobites can be alternative starts that open up replayibility options or whatever you imagine

It's not exactly accurate to say that the Hell Priest wasn't called "Pinhead" until the 3rd movie. He was called that by crew and fans (but not Clive Barker) the whole time, credited that way starting with the 2nd movie, and the 3rd is the first where he was called that by a character in universe.

I remember having a job interview, in a darker room with 3 people sitting around me. It was like being interviewed by the original 3 Cenobites. Lol

@@CajunReaper95 i dont think so, the video doesn't have to be blurred if it rated for mature audience. But the channel is greedy and dont want the video limited to mature audience only.

X-men vs the Cenobites! Place your bets. I don't think Xavier's powers would work on angels. I don't know how time works in The Labyrinth, so I don't know about Quicksilver. Magneto would be cool. The Cenobites would think Wolverine's resilience to pain was extremely interesting. It would move them to tears. Honestly, I'm on the fence on who would come out on top.
