Yesterday I had an interview and the interviewer asked me a question I couldn't answer properly: "What is something you absolutely would not do in a job, and what is the minimum you expect from the company in order to accept a position?" ???I have just started viewing you. I had to counter today, the hiring manager advised me that local government are locked into salary bands. She said she will attempt.to get approval from the city manager but it's not likely. Would you be willing to share experiences of clients who are negotiating in these types of organizations.

I worked at local government and we had plenty of successful re-negotiations. Checkout Madeline Mann she has a good video on negotiating salary.
