Same here guy. I was 13 years old, my parents and I had just seen the movie Lethal Weapon 4 and I discovered Jet Li. As a kid I though he was a Kung fu alien... Still do. Straight after the movie they take me to good old Time Zone. And there was this new game with "digitised graphics". Watch some older kids play and then one beats the other and proceeds to rip his spine out with head attached. It was like discovering a new planet.

Still have that kind of Trauma until this day, especially when i get bad ending or game over. I rather watch walktrough so i can avoid those scary scene.
Aliens versus Predator Arcade had the best continue screen. Also remember some deaths in Dragon Lair 2 and Space Ace were disturbing, especially the ones they get eaten by large creatures.

When i was a kid, The Ninja Gaiden arcade continue screen effed me up, man. They really tried to terrify you into putting more quarters into the machine! 😂
Holy smokes! I saw someone play Ninja Ryukenden at an arcade inside of DISNEYLAND in the early 90's! That horrifying Continue screen was all I could think about for MONTHS! I looked for the game when I came back to Disneyland a year later, but it was removed.

True and it looked horrifying. Loved this game and shame it got removed from arcades like when street fighter 2 came to arcades. Purchased this on Nintendo switch arcade games and realized those lil monsters at the saw scene are practically on all the levels on the walls symboled which makes game weird and also Nostradamus is on the walls or mountains too which must mean the programmer of this game must be obsessed with devils and Nostradamus lol
Fun fact regarding Final Fight; Poison and all of the palette swapped variants were not trans in the original Japanese release, this was a change made specifically to the western releases because of US laws preventing depictions of violence towards women. It wasn't until 2014 that Poison was confirmed by character designer Akira Nishitani that Poison is both trans and biologically female, as he says that it's up to the player's interpretation.
