You can tone down the sound by adding a glass pack muffler/resonator in the mid-pipe section. You can further dial in the sound to your liking by increasing or decreasing the length of the glass pack muffler that is installed.

Just have semi rounded bends is a complete game changer.Sound great.Beautiful ride, Brother….. No complaining about a clean early Z. Its pointless!

Sounds good, actually need to take my Z to the muffler shop to get a new exhaust also. Mine is from the 80’s with a turbo muffler, crusty and old now.

Hey buddy, nice ride!!! I'm restoring a '78 280z as well an my question is "if i add after market headers, will is still pass smog here in California? My z is 100% stock, but es i want it louder and with headers too. Greatly appricated.

Hey! I'm not too sure, but I assume you would be okay with adding headers as long as you have your catalytic converter on (and as long as the cat is still good). My Z is 1975 so it's smog exempt.
