This might be a very selfish request but I think it'd be very interesting that from now on you included the Haolonggood Alamosaurus in your comparisons to admire how different dinosaurs compare to it; I just love the figure so much I would really enjoy seeing it featured in more videos like the T-rexs usually do

Thank you for your comment, Jorge! Unfortunately, it's high on my sauropod shelf and rather difficult to get to once I put it there. I also try to make comparisons based on cladistic closeness, formation, and also, try to choose models that most people would have. That's why I choose the PNSO T Rexes, as either Cameron and Wilson are ones that most of my viewers already have.

What an astounding piece, I’m in absolute awe of how well executed this turned out. The amount of realism makes this feel like an actual taxidermied animal.

Between PNSO and HLG, I think I will have my dream collection of 1/35 dinosaur figures. This Edmontosaurus is one of PNSO’s finest hadrosaurs. Hoping they will charge forward with a full on 1/35 Shangtunosaurus. I’m surprised we haven’t seen one before now. I’ve liked the previous hadrosaurs and wasn’t particularly bothered by some of the more gracile forms but I grew up with Greg Paul renditions that were representing most groups of dinosaurs as slimmer than the blobby tail drag gets from 60 years ago. I just appreciate PNSO’s continued excellent renderings as well as your continued in depth reviews. Applause.

Thank you very much! 😁 I'm glad that my reviews are watched by dedicated viewers who don't just stay for a quick look at the models themselves. I realy do hope for a *real **1:35** Shangtunosaurus* . There is still a bitter aftertaste in the mouths of many collectors when the Tsintaosaurus, one of the larger Chinese hadrosaurs actually showed up in such a minuscule size! given the size of it in 1:35 and the fact that PNSO offered it in the hollow vinyl of yesteryear, and how they've quit that and given us solid sauropods of lesser size instead, I don't hold out much hope. I think a true 1:35 would be more realistic from HLG. Being a Chinese company, I am sure they would be happy to tackle a Chinese dinosaur! I too actually really liked the very gracile forms in Paul. Hence I never commented on the spindly forelimbs in my earliest PNSO hadrosaur reviews. But since then I've come to appreciate that there was probably a lot more muscle bulk to be had over those bones. Hence I'm happy how PNSO has evolved in their understanding as well.

You always put so much care and attention in your reviews… Thank you for going the extra mile with analyzing the scientific accuracy compared to other reviewers. For collectors focused on accuracy like me, this is valuable material indeed. BTW, will you be getting Haolonggood’s Edmontosaurus as well? I’m torn between this PNSO Edmontosaurus and Haolonggood’s version. PNSO’s is very well researched as per usual, but the shape of the crest is admittedly a bit unusual as you mention. HLG’s has a more conventional looking one. And I think they will do a good job with accuracy as well, and surely the model will be more affordable. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts about it if you end up getting it!

Thank you very much for your kind words! Unfortunately my sharing comes from a fanatic interest in anatomy and are still the word of an amateur. I wish I had studied palaeontology years ago; I'm sure I could be more indepth 😁 I will most certainly get at least one of the HLG Edmontosauruses! HLG has done such a fantastic job with their rapid improvements that hadrosaurs being my 2nd favourite dinosaur group, I absolutely have to give it a try. It looks bigger too than the PNSO, so it would nicely fit a larger specimen. I would suggest that if HLG's Edmonto comes out soon, you have time to watch reviews and decide. The problem is, if HLG's Edmonto comes out way into the subsequent runs of PNSO's. And we all know that PNSO is notorious for having deterioriation of paint apps in late run ones. If you can find a PNSO Edmonto on sale and it won't hurt you financially _and_ you aren't sick of brown-based dinos, it might be a good idea to pick it up.

Thank you for the magnificent review again! I'm very pleased to finally see a wonderful Edmontosaurus figure! Incredible detail and a nice beefy look! Nevertheless, disappointed by the traditional paintscheme which gives it an odd tiger-like appearance in my opinion. A big doubt to purchase this figure... You are most welcome! It's really enjoyable for me to do reviews on a clade I really like. Sauropods are my favourite, but hadrosaurs are second. The absolute elegance and efficiency of the hadrosaur bauplan is amazing. I hope PNSO will bring their refined process to more hadrosaurs for sure. Lambeosaurus in the same scheme with the reticulated patttern and a Corythosaurus in 1:35 with a correctly proportioned head would be very welcome! Shangtungosaurus will hopefully not be insulted with the size of the Tsintaosaurus! Yes, I'd be keen to see what HLG does with their Edmontosaurus!

Edmontosaurus has had a glow-up the last decade or so, with the crest on the E.regalis species to the fact the later E.annectens species was almost Shantungosaurus-sized. What I've noticed in general is that Saurolophine Hadrosaurs are often overlooked in favor of Lambeosaurines, think about it, when have you seen a figure of Gryposaurus, Brachylopsaurus, Prosaurolophus or Saurolophus? Even a comic & animated series I've seen set in fictional versions of Hell's Creek had Parasaurolophus & Olorotitan as the hadrosaurs instead of Edmontosaurus...
@DinosDragons
@DinosDragons 10 ай бұрын
I thnk it's an obvious draw because when there are elaborate headcrests there is more novelty and novelty sells. Add to the standards of today for sculpt and paint application, and the potential for flamboyance and attraction seems higher for crested hadrosaurs rather than those that are often perceived as 'boring'. A pity though... my Safari Ltd Gryposaurus is one of my favourites! I hope that PNSO maybe will one day dare to take the risk of making a crestless hadrosaur.

This guy is very pretty! The pose is interesting too, almost looks surprised by something. I heard a long time ago that the grooves on the beak are actually suppose to be on the inside of the beak, not the outside and that it's a common misconception that they were on the outside. Though it has been years since I heard this so I don't know if that claim is still accurate or not.
@DinosDragons
@DinosDragons 10 ай бұрын
Actually it really depends. There _are_ grooves in various structures that might represent blood vessels you wouldn't see on the surface. On the other hand in a model of a live animal, the cracks could represent simply the form of the keratin over the actual bone itself. 😁 So these cracks seen here may not be the same cracks on the bony remains.

Excelente review!

@MrRajithasandaruwan
@MrRajithasandaruwan 10 ай бұрын
Is this the best Edmontosaurus figure out there? The answer is 'Yes'. The color application, the pose, the size, and the sense behind it. Everything about this figure makes it the best Edmontosaurus figure out there. That comb looks more like a rooster's red crest. But I imagined it to be a casque, like in cassowaries. And if you can remember, in that Haolonggood Tlatolophus video, I asked about the skinny front limbs. Well, now look at this guy. This Edmontosaurus didn't skip leg day and looked so healthy. And it looks so natural and alive. These giants are not like gazelles. They must have beefy limbs to run, fight, and, most importantly, carry their body weight. So, I think the PNSO Corythosaurus and Lambeosaurus forelimbs are slightly inaccurate. Even though I do not have this beauty, I'm sure those who do will greatly cherish this figure. And thank you so much, my dear sir, for always sharing your knowledge with us. You are the best. 🖤
@DinosDragons
@DinosDragons 10 ай бұрын
Haha, don't you mean this Edmontosaurus didn't skip _arm_ day? 😁I would say this is PNSO's best hadrosaurid so far. The PNSO Parasaurolophus marked a big change towards their integument improvement, but still had rather spindly front limbs. This one ticks all the boxes. It is true when you consider the proportions of the bones that it could and indeed should have more muscle, and now PNSO updates that look. I hope they'll redo Lambeosaurus and Corythosaurus!

I want to state that the California Condor has fleshy cheeks made of skin. Ornithischians Dinosaurs may not have had muscular cheeks like mammals, but they could have folds of skin to cover the teeth and the gums as well as to hold food in the mouth. Edmontonia and panoplosaurus that had large osteoderms in the bucal area probably had cheeks to hold them in place.
@DinosDragons
@DinosDragons 10 ай бұрын
Yes that's the idea. When people say dinosaurs had cheeks they're definitely not talking about tissue homologous to mammalian cheeks! The question has always been, what would take the place of the buccinator muscles. I believe I've mentioned the buccal osteoderm in Panoplosaurus in another video, when I talked about cheeks as well 😊
@brawlholic9960
@brawlholic9960 10 ай бұрын
Thanks for replying! It means a lot when a youtube channel owner communicates with others. The thing that could take the place of the buccinator muscles in the cheek area of these dinosaurs could be either just elastic skin (like Condors) or a new muscle structure unique to Ornithischians. I also want to remind that Parrots has two unique jaw muscles that are completely absent from all other birds. The ethmomandibular and the pseudo- masseter. The sides of the bucal area of Ornithischians are very deep compared to other dinosaurs, so reasonably anyone would think that there must be something besides just gums@@DinosDragons
