While I agree that the PNSO’s neck-down position gives a more imposing and impressive appearance, I honestly like the paint application of the Haolonggood versions a lot better, especially in the horns, which look much less plastic-y than on the PNSO. I also really like the intimidating eye spots on the green. I actually just got my first Haolonggood figure for Christmas, their red Ouranosaurus, and it’s pretty impressive despite being one of their older figures. Haolonggood have definitely given it their all during their time of work, and I’m very excited to see what they give us next year.

Merry christmass, and happy new year! Mine will arrive today, or tomorrow. The green one. It's all about the scale, wich seems perfect. Maybe Einiosaurus will be released before the year ends. That would be perfect! We'll see...

I really like these two! I actually like that the variants are close in colour for the fact that it can be headcanoned that one is male and the other female :P Many of the others feel more like different populations or subspecies instead of gender. -(Also it would be really cool to see these two repainted with the Zoo Tycoon 2 patterns)-

Yes it often seems that HLG deliberately wants to give us one more 'realistic' and one more 'fanciful' variant! I'm afraid I'm not a gamer so I am unfamiliar with the game 😅

Excelente contenido como siempre 👍🏻. En unos días más Haolonggood va a sacar un concavenator 😮😮😮.

After seeing the Haolonggood Styracosaurus in your review, I am tempted to get one. Because I do have the PNSO and really like it, I thought I will pass on this one as most likely next year will bring again some large sauropods and shelf space is filling up quickly with these giants. I do share with you the hope that we would still get the Einiosaurus this year or early next year, as it is one of the two ceratopsians from that catalogue page that I really wanted to get; the other one being Diabloceratops. However there have been some rumors (actually there was a riddle about this) going on about something else that could be released any time soon, and this seems to be more or less confirmed now. This will be the Concavenator. There is also a second riddle about another forthcoming figure, which goes "From times of yore, my reign was peaceful. Big heart, like a living tree I was. I left deep traces in my walk through time." This has been interpreted as being either referring to Brachiosaurus / Giraffatitan or Sauroposeidon. Haolonggood is speaking to us now like the oracle of Delphi it seems and this is quite entertaining actually.

Hello,Hope all is well. I would of been much more excited if they released a larger version like the Triceratops which I felt was absolutely gorgeous. It doesn't really scale very well with any other figures I have. Kind of disappointed to be honest.

It seems like we never get a perfect 1:35, though I am sure that the live animal this represents still fall within the expected range of variations we see in most animals!

The ornamentation of the frill and the paintjob of the epiparietals and episquamosals are very nice. But all in all I prefer my PNSO styracosaurus. In my opinion for this model - and in general - PNSO has finer details on the sculpt and the paint apps, are way more naturalistic. (And their colour shemes and especially the patterns show more variation, than is often said.) Nevertheless Haolonggood has high quality models. I own some and I‘m completely happy with them.

The Haolonggood Styracosaurus has definitely better black wash applications and all in all a better paint job than the PNSO here with superior contrasting color schemes. PNSO color of the horns and muddy yellow tone overall isn't very appealing obviously.

@@yozkopf3000But the pnso has a more realistic styracosaurus.

@player21099 I'm interested to hear your opinion on this. Why do you think PNSO is more realistic?

@markus260 I feel that HLG is catching up fast though, if it hasn't already in some of their larger offerings. This one was really a hard toss up, but I'm almost inclined to choose the HLG if the flat was burning and I could save only one Styracosaurus! 🤣
@DinosDragons6 сағат бұрын
@yozkopf3000 I forgot to mention that! Yes I definitely didn't like the Styracosaurus spike colour compared to the HLG. In fact I was puzzled by that colour choice. I feel that in terms of colour alone, I definitely prefer the Haolonggood here.

I've really come to love Haolonggood - much more than PNSO - but both have pros and cons. I think PNSO needs more dynamic and interesting models and colors to keep up as Haolonggood continues to improve. It IS however a bit saddening that this one uses such a muted color scheme. Oh well. Still beats the crap out of offerings from Safari or others in that vein. I just got that Edmontosaurus from Haolonggood along with the PNSO one, and have to say, they compliment each other if you treat PNSO as E. annectens and Haolonggood as E. regalis.
@dericplummer927215 сағат бұрын
I disagree. Most Haolonggood paint schemes are much too garish for me and derivative on past models. I would much prefer pnso keep what they are doing. Realistic and excellently applied paintjobs with pops of color here and there. Haolongood is is ahead on sheer number of figures and the diversity of general but in terms of quality I still find PNSO superior.

I'm curious with how you straighten plastic parts that arrive warped from the packaging. My Diabloceratops has some warping in its horns, but the plastic is so soft I'm not sure I can ever straighten them to my satisfaction.
@markus26017 сағат бұрын
Hold the warped part of the model in a bowl with boiling water for 15 seconds. (The plastic is soft now.) After that immediately hold it under cold running water for another 15 seconds. Doing this, hold it in the position, you want it to be. That worked abselutely fine with my Diabloceratops.
@DinosDragons7 сағат бұрын
What @markus260 said. You'll also see other methods like using a hair dryer. But for such small parts like these horns, dipping in boiling water is more precise.

If I have to decide, I'll go with the PNSO Styracosaurus. I was really looking forward to seeing those comparison photos, and it's now clear that the PNSO Styracosaurus is the standout option. Even though I don’t own either of these figures, I still believe PNSO is superior. That said, Haolonggood has done an excellent job with the pose, and the colors are very nice. As always, an amazing review, my dear sir! I wish you a happy new year filled with joy, good health, prosperity, and plenty of dinosaur figures. Keep up the fantastic work! You truly are the best. 🖤🖤

I wished the PNSO was indeed smaller. It would have been wonderful scaling with the Triceratops. I believe it's because at that time, PNSO hadn't decided to fully focus on 1:35 scale yet. So some like the Corythosaurus was really large!
