It is very simple: When you hit someone from the back you are at fault The couple should let the boy know in normal conversation, and then let him off, after he apologizes. Calling the police for this small incident with seemingly no damage to the car is over the top. Escalating the situation by bickering / trying to grab the handphone is never constructive.

The story is a little old already but I just want to give my two cents. The cyclist is partly in the wrong. However, he has a valid point in that he is unable to stop. At the beginning of the video, there a car behind him and another cyclist to his left. This cyclist has no wing mirrors. He is unable to know the distance between the car behind him and himself. According to him, and there was no dispute about this with the couple as well, the light was green. He couldn't avoid, couldn't stop, so the only thing he could do was to slow down and continue forward, hitting the car in the process. However, what he did in the aftermath was unacceptable. He chose to ride on and did not stop until prompted by the couple. Both parties assessed the damage and had contradicting assessments of the damage. Boy claimed that there was no scratch, couple claimed there was. Both parties started taking videos of each other at this point. His tone may come across as rude but he is not the aggressor. He was only defending himself from the stuff the couple was saying at him. The way the couple acted was also wrong. They took videos of the cyclist, yet they object to themselves being shot on camera and trying to get the cyclist to stop shooting, and started getting more aggressive. They tried to wrestle the phone away from the cyclist and kept prompting him, albeit indirectly, to fight. The way both parties reacted was inappropriate, but I feel that the couple should be more mature about this situation. Some accidents are unable to be prevented, but the aftermath of such accidents speak about both parties' character. The boy shirked responsibilities for his actions, and the couple tried to further escalate the situation in an inappropriate manner.

It's not about money or scratches.. This is about responsibility. Young man I can't imagine what will happened next time you drive and knock down someone. In front green light also don't stop? The video shows that the cyclist has indeed hit the rear of the Audi. The cyclist should have just admitted that he is in the wrong and apologised for his error. However, the cyclist appears to be blaming the driver for his own mistake. The parents of this cyclist ought to come forth and make a justifiable statement for their child’s actions and attitudes in this incident. Of course, the senior couple appear to be over reacting as the damage is not too serious. Perhaps it is due to the facts that either they are too heart pain over their car or that they are upset over the cyclist’s reaction and attitude (lack of apology and blame shifting) or both. I hope they all learn from this experience.

I think the cyclist is trying to provoke the driver by keeping doing a close up video on the driver. If the cyclist know he is at fault just apologise. If the police need to come in then just leave it to the police to handle. Probably the driver will have the police report and they can make a claim from their insurance company or file a claim against the cyclist. At first I would think the young boy is scare and try to run but the video show the boy trying to provoke the driver to fight him. I don’t agree to his behaviour, though some might feel the driver is harsh to the cyclist.
