I had a elective section with my second little boy after an emergency with my first and honestly it was the most amazing experience ever , you know whats going to happen/what time and before you know it your little baby is in your arms 😍 xx

I think as long as the baby is delivered safely that's the main thing ! You should definitely be given the choice although I do understand why they want to avoid sections. I think people forget that it's actually major abdominal surgery ! Before my first was born I would have chosen a section just because I was so anxious about when/where it would happen. But I've been lucky to have 2 very easy/quick labour's so I'd be gutted now if I couldn't do it with baby 3. Your bump definitely does look big! Hope everything goes well with the next scan x

Aw that’s good you ended up having quick births! ❤️ I don’t think anyone goes into asking for a section thinking it’s not a big deal tbh, it’s a big decision - yeah it’s major surgery but the alternative is a pretty major deal for most too! 🙈🤣 thanks! I will do an update once I’ve had my next growth scan, I can’t get my head around possibly having a big baby this time! 😂🙊

I had an elective section with my first 4 weeks ago due to being absolutely terrified of vaginal birth I even tried counselling to see if that would help but I was just to scared. The judgement I got was shocking even from family members.I just think as long as the baby is healthy and happy it doesn’t matter what way he/she comes out. Just do what you feel comfortable with your baby your body 😀 xxxx

there is so much judgement around it! Congratulations on your first baby ❤️❤️

I had a planned section for breech baby - the procedure was very quick and felt quite straight forward so I hadn't quite appreciated that it was major surgery and you do need to be very careful and accept a LOT of help afterwards. You still have a healing process to go through - physically, but also mentally. You'll be fine xx

Its so crazy watching these videos and seeing how different peoples sizing can be! I myself am 35+5 weeks ! and my bump is TINY!! so small to the point in the hospital I was asked if id be okay to give up my seat to someone who was 'heavily pregnant' - which of course I didn't mind as her bump was huge!! by inside also like 'well I also am heavily pregnant' lol! Like yourself ive had growth scans every 2 weeks since 24 weeks! But thankfully baby is measuring in perfect! as for the fundal height at my 35+4 week scan (yesterday) I was measuring at 31 but baby is measuring a week ahead from the mesurments they took round the waist !!! the blessing of the smaller bump is meaning I'm still fitting into my size 8 jeans! although this week started swapping to the leggings stage!!! Good luck with the rest of ur pregnancy! I stumbled across your videos from Ash's vids and am really enjoying ur channel!! I looking forward to hearing about the elective c section journey you have! I am also from Glasgow and this is my first baby (who is also a boy!!) xxxx

I was measuring ahead too dispite the fact I hadn't a clue I was pregnant till 26 weeks I was actually messuring 43 weeks having him I was actually 41+4. And he was born by c section and tippes scales at 10lb.. Lovely video 😍

So pleased for you that you have reached a choice you are happy with, that’s what it’s all about ❤️🙌 I had a planned section with my first as he was breech (ended up emergency however as went into labour 3 weeks early, but it was still a calm environment so not the usual emergency section) and if we have another would like a planned section again due to my anxiety around labour. Would you be able to link the stats you found on elec vs emergency sections? So hard to find any research on it xx

I've been denied a c section and I had a scan today and baby is already 4lb 2oz and I'm only 30+1. I'm small and petite and have also had previous very traumatic births. But I'm still not aloud a c section. I'm so scared about giving birth to a huge baby vaginally. I'm being induced at 38 weeks hopfully no later. How big was ure baby in the end?
@sankey19886 жыл бұрын
I know that consultants only look at the stats but I feel like they don't look at the holistic approach. The emotional trauma of birth is life long. I had a very traumatic birth with my first. They offered me an elective section the second time around. I opted out and the only reason was because my husband couldn't take time off work. I would've been at home with a very active two year old and a newborn. Good for you for sticking to your guns on the elective csection. X

I measured 4 weeks ahead with my son from 28 weeks and had him at 38 weeks weighing a healthy 8lbs. Which I suppose is a good size for being 2 weeks early and my first. I'm now 7 weeks pregnant and very nervous and full of anxiety for this pregnancy/Labour. I'm also in the UK, probably around 40 minute drive from yourself in clackmannanshire. Your bump is lovely! And your looking fantastic hun! Xxxx

I've got a heart condition so I had a planned section booked at 37 weeks but it ended up being an emergency section the night before and although I ended up seriously ill afterwards it was all problems relating to my own condition and I had no issues from the actual C-section, my 2nd baby was planned section at 36 weeks and it all went as planned and I had the same recovery (plus thankfully no complications from my own condition)....I know there are a lot of horror stories with them but I personally think they aren't bad at all. I know exactly what you mean 're. Consultant meeting and guilt and stats. I had a few reasons plus they were torn between a section anyway due to medical reasons but my midwife was really supportive which helped a lot. It was a really good experience overall but I felt really exposed and they shouted me to ask why I was having an elective as I was in the hall on the ward and the tone of voice and lack of privacy upset me a bit. Def the best choice for me though and my baby! Well done for going in and sticking your ground though and I'm sure it will go well xx
