What an overwhelming response again. Thank you all so much! I'm so lucky to have all your support. It really is crazy how you just don't know how it feels until you go through it and it feels so nice to have so many mums commenting about their own experience. I'm going to go through and try find some of the more specific questions to answer, but thank you all for your lovely comments xxx

Lily Pebbles thank you so much for sharing this. I literally have gone through the same thing as you did, with the feeling of anxiety and sickness and just so emotional and depressed. And I just kept thinking I was not normal. I’m typing as I’m watching your videos and I literally feel like I went through the same experience!!!! Burping, knowing what to eat every hour etc

Thank you for sharing and being so honest. I am currently 19 weeks and have been suffering from very bad morning sickness which comes and goes numerous times a day, every single day since around 6weeks. Going to work every day has been a real struggle and people keep acting so surprised when they hear I am 19 weeks and still sick. All I get is “ it normally wears off after week 12 so that’s strange?”. Like I’m faking it or something? I’m very lucky to have an amazing husband who has been doing everything at home and even making me breakfast before he goes off to work. It’s so encouraging to see others who truly understand how lonely and scary it can be and supporting each other by sharing x

I’m now 8 weeks pregnant and thought I’d watch this series back. Oh my god Lily, thank you. No one explained the “blank” feeling you get with the lethargy and now I totally get it. The stressing over no symptoms, then bam one day they’re there in their own unique way. The guilty feeling I feel as my close friends and family have miscarried. My appetite is still shot... I feel so nauseous if I don’t eat but absolutely nothing appeals to me. Cold foods only and even then, what appeals to me one day doesn’t appeal the next. No dairy too! So relatable! Thank you thank you ❤️

I described early pregnancy as the worst hangover I've ever had, the bone tiredness, random aches and pains, feeling so flat and out of it, plus the nausea, ugh. It's tough! Kudos to you for filming when you felt so ill to give others true insight into how it feels.

I am five minutes in and crying my eyes out. Thank you so much for articulating and being so open about something that people so rarely discuss. What you said about spending your whole life feeling like the most fertile thing in the world and terrified that you might get pregnant to then suddenly feel terrified that maybe you’re not so fertile completely struck a chord with me. I went through early menopause at the age of 25 and it was such a sudden and complete shift in the way I had always thought about my body and my fertility. And you’re right it’s so lonely. So incredibly happy for you and Rich and so excited for baby content! X

Lily, I rarely leave comments & I’m not having a baby any time soon. But I’ve watched many pregnancy vlogs & updates from influencers I’m subscribed to and none of them have been this honest. Sure, some might’ve had an easy start. But I feel like it always seemed so unrealistic. You made me tear up from the start of the vlog. Those fears, I think we all have them (those of us who’d like kids) and it feels so important to have someone you can watch that won’t sugar coat the fears or symptoms. I hope you continue to be honest about this journey as it’ll help so so many people out. And I hope things get easier for you! You and Rich are going to be wonderful parents. Your little baby is very lucky to have you x

PLEASE vlog the whole way through Lily! I also never comment, but just wanted to say Lily that I have rarely been on youtube and watch only a few youtubers during the short free time I have, but your videos recently (before you announced the pregnancy) were the only ones i was watching! Even during my workouts instead of listening to music I'd put your vlogs on and have really been enjoying them more than ever before. So good riddens to all those comments saying your content was "boring". The renovation was so interesting and cool to watch, but i think what makes these pregnancy vlogs and your renovation vlogs on a different level than your normal videos is that they are so real and honest! I'm 22 and am certainly not in the position to have a baby with being in nursing school, my career and relationship (everything!) but you've made me envision and feel excited for the thought of myself pregnant in the future. Hearing your voice shake and on the border of crying or describing the family outings made me hold back bursting into tears so much! Please please continue to vlog this! Thanks so much for uploading this and taking the time to give us updates :)

I am almost 35 weeks pregnant and this video made me laugh remembering how sick you are in the beginning. The sickness does goes away thankfully but there will always be symptoms the entire time. I am so ready to no longer have severe heartburn, be able to sleep on my back, get up off the couch, fit into anything, stop feeling like I am starving all the time and especially meet baby! Pregnancy is pretty much a year of you consumed in all these feelings. It is a lot on you physically and emotionally! Really a sign of how strong women are! Please keep us updated!

My favourite thing about this “KZbin community” is the fact that we all grow up together! I remember watching you when you lived in your parents’ place and I was in high school then and I am about to finish university. Its absolutely mental to think that someone I don’t personally know can make me feel like family. (I don’t know if I expressed that right) I just love you so much and am so happy for you and although I am sooo far from even thinking about getting pregnant, I watched this whole video being so emotional with tears in my eyes. I am so happy for you darling. ❤️❤️

Love how honest you're being with your experience and fertility. It took my husband and I 2 years to get pregnant and the waiting for it to happen was the worst. ❤️ First time mum, my baby is now 14 months old. I believe the horrible time during pregnancy is almost a preparation for motherhood. Everything I experienced during my pregnancy has made me a stronger and wiser woman. I feel like I’m watching my own journey back. Especially the work worries, the depressed low state, illness. Once your baby is here, just the smell of your baby fixes EVERYTHING! ❤️ Hang in there lovely I hope you are doing ok. xoxo

Oh Lily, I wish I could convince you not to put so much pressure on yourself. I'm so sorry that your having so much anxiety. Try to take one day at a time and rest if you are feeling tired or sick. There is a very good chance that you will be feeling better soon. And then you can enjoy this a little more. So happy for you. I'm so glad you have your mom and sisters who can assure you that all the crap part will be forgotten when they hand you your baby. Hard to believe now👼 so excited to watch you navigate through your pregnancy and I'm sure it will help others to see that pregnancy isn't always glamorous~ love and peace

You said that these were sad - they’re not sad, they’re realistic. This is exactly how I felt in the very beginning. I chose not to google anything or even get the pregnancy app until 12 weeks because I didn’t want all the internet ‘noise’ to scare me (my husband would look things up and then tell me what he found out). I was just as scared and really avoided getting too attached in the first few weeks. It might sound bad to some people, but this is the way some of us cope. We have a smart and hilarious 15 month old girl now, and have enjoyed every minute of having her in our lives!

I'm not pregnant, not going to be any time soon (unfortunately, it takes two to do! 😂) but I really enjoyed this video. Thank you a lot for being so open, especially when you don't feel that good. It makes you feel like a regular person and I just feel so much closer to you then. Also, although it's really difficult, try not to worry too much about mean people. You can't please everybody and it's totally ok. And to those people, if you don't have anything nice to say, why bother to say it at all? The world isn't a very nice place right now anyway, so maybe we could at least make this community a little better :) And, congratulations for both you and Rich :)

Watching this video has been such a relief. I found out I was pregnant on the 10th of Jan 2022.. still not had a scan or doctors appointment yet but symptoms have been awful. 😭 feeling sick all day, loss of appetite completely, metallic taste in my mouth all day and absolutely no energy whatsoever to do anything. I completely relate to how you feel about sickness, I have the worst fear and anxiety related to vomiting, and that’s probably been one of the major symptoms of my pregnancy.. which has made me feel extremely down and upset all the time. I have also noticed I salivate a lot more, and the second I start to feel hungry, my anxiety is sky high because I instantly start to feel sick and have no energy to eat anything because I don’t feel like eating anything at all. So difficulty to explain. Feel like I can relate to so so so many things you’ve mentioned in this video! Thank you so much!

Thank you for your honesty. For years I’ve been talking to women honestly about everything from babies to menopause, and the one thing I always say is is that we are not honest enough about these subjects to one another. Woman can be so competitive we are always showing our best face but that helps no one. Expressing the ups and downs of life as woman is so helpful. It’s good for us to get it out and it’s just plain old helpful for the next person going through it. So thank you.

Hi Lily, I don’t usually comment on your videos and I’m not pregnant, but I just wanted to tell you that I think how honest and open you are being about this is extremely important. Like, I think this is kindof revolutionary. I can imagine that this information and realness is exactly what so many people might need during/before pregnancy. It’s amazing to think that only a few years ago, this kind of stuff wasn’t openly talked about at all (and still isn’t in many ways). I hope you feel better soon in terms of the sickness, and well done on creating this really important/helpful/interesting content (even when you’ve been feeling rubbish!) - you are doing fantastically. 😊

First, congratulations to you and Rich. I'm 54 and it's been a loooooooooong time since I've been pregnant but what you're doing with videos like these is great. All I had was the book "What to Expect When You're Expecting." I appreciate what you said about women who go to work day to day - it was tough as I had morning sickness and used public transportation to get to work. I did get sick in the grocery store one night. My go to was drinking Jello (before it jelled in the fridge) and eating potato chips. It's crazy but hormones are crazy. You are growing a human - be gentle with yourself and take care!

That's the thing, Lily. No one in my culture talks about the anxiety thing when it comes to pregnancy. They tell you about their experience with the physical sides of morning sickness and the tiredness, but I had no idea about the emotional sides of the pregnancy up until the moment I found out about our first baby at 6 weeks. And for me the anxiety was horrifying because I couldn't explain what it was or exactly how I was feeling other than a pure, unprecedented, and without-reason anxiety that was shaking me from the deep inside of me. So I applaud you for bringing light to that area. Most importantly, CONGRATULATIONS to you guys!!!

I am so happy you made this video it is such a nice support for women who are newly pregnant!! Throwing up is THE WORST and I understand your anxiety - do not lose confidence in yourself and your ability to do your job - you are STRONG and kind and lovely and I promise you, you will figure it all out! Be gentle with yourself, you are growing a perfect little human and one day you’ll wake up and realize you’re all of a sudden completely comfortable with last minute changes to your plans (as a type A individual this was SHOCKING to me - but you have to with a baby!). Also, this deep contentment with your little family will seep into everything you do and how you feel and will give you this unflappable confidence to weather the changes and day to day challenges of life!

Gosh, thank you so much for putting this up. I literally am going through the same experiences and I burst into tears several times because to have someone describing this madness is just so bloody comforting... I am currently week 7, week 6 was an absolute insanity with days turning into never ending torture and my boyfriend just trying to get any kind of food into me, the metallic taste, the bloated tummy, the hurting jaw, thank you, thank you, thank you for sharing this. All my love and gratitude, Nat

I watched this vlog when I came off the pill. I watched it again when I got pregnant and watched that part about being scared of miscarriage thinking - yes! I thought everything would be fine. Then, miscarried. Now, I'm pregnant again and I'm watching this at around the 6 weeks mark where you're talking about feeling sick and anxiety and honestly, this is so so brave. Thank you for doing this for all of us women who are going through and will keep going through this. It's so intense and massively emotional to watch (more so being pregnant - ha!) Thanks, Lily. A year on, I'm binge watching these vlogs again. I hope you're having a great evening. :)

Lily! I loved this vlog. I'm in my early 20s and don't plan on having kids for a little bit yet, so didn't think this video would be my cup of tea, however, I loved it so much. I know it sounds silly and immature, but as excited as I am to have children, the idea of potentially vomiting for 9 months straight genuinely terrifies me. Like you, I also have such a fear of being sick and I get so worked up and anxious about it. But this video has made me feel so much more relaxed about it, so thank you so incredibly much. Awesome video to watch! And I don't think your content recently has been bad, it hasn't been your best, but people in all of their jobs have ups and downs. Just because you're a youtuber doesn't mean that you can't have a bad day at work, or not perform as well in a task as you'd hope. You're only human. Sending lots of good vibes

Thank you so much for being such an honest, real, refreshing part of the internet. "I'm going through something painful and lonely right now, so I thought I should share it," is not a thought most people have, so thank you for being so selfless. You've made someone feel less alone in the world.

What a raw and honest account, thanks for sharing. I have just had my first baby and just wanted to say that at 6 weeks I started to feel mildly nauseous and then at 7 weeks it disappeared and I had no symptoms whatsoever. Nothing! And I carried on like that for the whole of my pregnancy. I went on to have a healthy baby. I feel so lucky to not have had to go through this but also it was a really lonely and worrying time for me as I felt like there was SO much out there about symptoms in the first trimester and everyone goes on about feeling sick or tired and I felt completely normal. I couldn't read any books as it just reminded me that I wasn't the norm and was there something wrong and Google was telling me the more symptoms you have the stronger the pregnancy. Just wanted to put that out there incase anyone else is reading this with a different experience

I’m only 21 and I’m looking into the effects of birth control. And I really do think that there is this gap on information on the effects of coming off of birth control after years. Like the possible side effects of staying on birth control for 10+ years. Like you control your hormone level for years.

Congratulations. It feels like forever ago that I was this early in my pregnancy, now I have an 11 week old so it really wasn’t long ago at all. Once the baby is here the pregnancy feels like a lifetime ago and all of the horribleness of it is forgotten. I swore I’d never have another baby again during my entire pregnancy much to my partner’s relief, however now I’m sat working out when will be the best time to have baby number 2. You’ve got this. Your baby will 100% be worth all of the sickness and pain xxx

There's never enough kindness in this world & maybe those who were negative will feel badly, but maybe & probably not but I really hope they do. Good for you for keeping it absolutely real & raw (& oh so relatable for many of us women) which is what KZbin often lacks. Most importantly, massive congrats to you & Rich. We are all eagerly watching from the sidelines & rooting you 3 on! xx

I am seriously cracking up at how much your experience mirrors my own. All I wanted was salad when I was pregnant. I was so passionate about salad! 😂 I sounded like you talking about cucumbers. And the exact same thing happened with my husband and I when we went for a tour of the hospital. I don’t think I was even in the 2nd tri when we went. All the other women looked like they might go into labor any moment. It was ridiculous 😂

Susan Abad Awww, I love that story. I think oranges would be a good snack for morning sickness because it’s tart (not Tarte 😉). Sour candies worked better than ginger for my stomach.

I am due next Tuesday and as someone who went through pregnancy and as a midwife as well I am so grateful for this honest first trimester vlog. People don't talk about these things. I also described it as a constant hangover. I threw up only a few times if that, but that constant nausea was there, and I was working 12,5 hour shifts full time in labour suite throughout my whole pregnancy. The tiredness is the worst in the first trimester in my experience, so well done you are through it! Third trimester brings its own problems but at least you kinda start to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Saying this ask me next week how I feel and I might tell you a different thing. :D And I totally get why you got emotional about children being mean to their parents. I wanted to be pregnant and I wanted to have this baby and still it is bloody difficult and totally takes away who you are. We don't give enough credit to women and our mums for doing this for us. Hope you are feeling better now, and good luck on your journey. xxx

Hubby and I won’t ever have biological children...we plan to foster and adopt...but I still really enjoy videos like these because they help me relate to my pregnant friends more easily. I’ve never felt that maternal pull to be pregnant myself, but I love children and am thankful for opportunities to support my closest friends during their nine months and beyond. So thanks for sharing! It helps me understand better how to support them. Congrats, Lily.

I cannot thank you enough for this video. Such honesty, and it’s exactly how I felt in those first few weeks - excited but nervous about miscarriage and worrying about a lack of symptoms. It can be overwhelming but a wise lady told me to just try to enjoy it otherwise I’ll get to the end and realise I was stressed and anxious the whole way through! Good luck with it all, I’m almost 20 weeks now so I’m looking forward to more pregnancy and baby videos from you!

It was the relentlessness of the morning sickness. At least with a hangover you know it’s going to pass. With this it just goes on and on and on. Well it did for me until about 17 weeks. I know it’s very different for everyone. They say it’s a sign of a healthy pregnancy though cause you have all the right hormones going on. Hope you feel energised soon. I’m sure you will be enjoying the lovely feeling of being all fulfilled and everything that goes with it. Xxxx

Hi Lily, just watched your video, for the first time. How brave are you?! you are thinking of others, even though you feel so vulnerable yourself, in your new pregnancy state! you are warm, sensitive and compassionate! I loved what you said about 'how can kids be mean to mums, when they go through SO much to have their children?' You are SO right! it made me feel bad thinking about the times I was mean to my lovely mum, who deserved a better daughter than me. Thank you for your honesty, about the realities of being pregnant, I can see how tough it's been for you. Be gentle with yourself though, you are showing SUCH courage! Good luck, and lots of love, you're gonna be a great mum!
