Good idea with the bungee cord Nigel and my carrots have germinated really well and very pleased with the quality of the netting that I bought off easy nets. ♻️🥕Happy gardening, Terry King.

I've run wires along the rafters of my greenhouse and across the end. I then grow my cucumbers up strings to the wires at the end, using tomato clips. The cukes end up all across the end and along the sides. The fruits hang down - easy to attend to. Happy sowing, growing and harvesting

Took up your offer on the easynets and also ordered the spring fastening clips because I had bamboo lattice to make like the one you made and I have to say they are brilliant, went up in five minutes and is super secure ... no more faffing around with bits of string

@7.18 I was just waiting for you to mention problems with sparrows pecking the leaves/tips of the peas! I've got exactly the same problem here in our new beg plot at home ( never had this at the plot.... It was usually wood pigeons 😁). I'll have to net them next time. Thanks for that! Your carrots look very happy! I’m sowing carrots today, at the recommendation of my seed company I sow as close to June 1st as possible ( when I retire it will be right on the 1st), that way I seem to miss the carrot fly, no nets necessary! That’s a clever wicking system for your cucumbers 🥒. Klaus

Nice one Nigel. I use a coco coir/clay ball mix in my quadgrows and autopots, no other compost etc. Hope the transplanting works for you mate. My last lot have rooted okay and I've just done a few more today - waste not want not LOL Have a good weekend!

Hi Nigel Just trying to catch up on a few videos. Great update again, Cucumbers look very healthy. I use Moles Seeds for a lot of my seeds, might be a bit more expensive but I find the germination rate excellent. 👍👍👍👍👍

I know you are fan of the Agranlan plug plant trainer , I have two , using them to start off carrots ! I have 100% germination ( early ) plant out early . Its quick and easy to transplant . I know I'm further south than you , but my carrots are looking good and the tops must be 4 inchs tall. Have problems with carrot fly so this year trying Resistafly and flyaway

Germination is always a fun little game. We direct sow our cucumber seed. Last 2 years horrible germination. Always great results previous years. So this year we went with a different variety and sowed them 3"s apart. 9 days, 1 plant. Said a few unkind words to Miss Nature. 2 days later went down to that trellis with with bean seeds in hand, 19 out of 21 germinated cukes! lol Did I hear say you fertilized your cucumbers with mostly Potash? TYFS

I have used Bathgate Champions Blend peat free for about three years now, it drains quicker than conventional compost but it is by far the best peat free on the market I have used. Highly recommended 👍 🌻🌻Nigel…………MuddyBootz Allotment🌻🌻
